The Red Door San Diego is committed to offering our guests sustainable and responsibly sourced farm-to-fork dishes. We proudly serve contemporary Italian and modern European cuisine with the freshest locally grown and handcrafted products available. We also feature delicious and unique ingredients from around the world. Chef/Owner Luciano Cibelli shops daily, personally selecting every item we serve. He bakes fresh breads, rolls, desserts and all of the pasta in house (including a special Gluten Free Bucatini) and he develops his menus in rhythm with the seasonal San Diego harvest.     This place always has delicious food, great ambiance, and friendly staff! The chef comes out and personally greets all of his guests, which makes it very personable and welcoming! 10/10 recommend.

    The food and service is always top notch. As a foodie I appreciate the leanths the chef/ower goes to to procure the best quality food. The attention to detail and the delicious food keeps me coming back. Food allergy folks such as gluten this is your chance to have a fine dining experience. The chef takes great care to make sure your food is safe. Last night being mother's day was super busy and the waitstaff was amazing. When all the buzz wears off the "it" place this is where you go for an amazing meal with understated elegance. I could go on and on but you need to try it yourself to see why you should choose Red Door

    Another amazing experience at The Red Door. We started going to The Red Door 4 years ago on my daughter’s birthday because she wanted a Beef Wellington. The Welly was awesome, but we fell in love with everything else we had that night and have had since. This trip we were greeted at the door by Chef Luciano, who treated us like we were old friends. Whether he remembers us or not, he made us feel like we just walked into his home. He recommended the Veal Parm, which wasn’t on the menu, and it was outstanding. The veal was buttery and the breading crunchy, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the portions were huge, and included a side of spaghetti. Daughter had the Welly again and it was perfection. She waits all year for that meal. The crudo app was so flavorful that I wanted another. Chef Luciano impresses every year! I have to give a shout out to Ryan our waiter; he is so knowledgable about the food and drink and is such a friendly and fun waiter! We’ll be back next year and hopefully a few times in between. Thanks Red Door!

    I don't know why it took me so long to try the Red Door but we will be back! There were four of us celebrating my birthday. The food was excellent, the service was warm and friendly and attentive. Everyone had something different and loved what they ordered. The chef visited us twice to check on us, a rare occurrence in a restaurant these days. We look forward to going back. FYI: We were there on a Sunday evening and were able to park within a block.

    Everything was wonderful, the food was delicious, we had the seabass risotto- best ever! Our server was excellent, Robin made a lot of great recommendations and took very good care of us- we will definitely be back

    The meal we had was absolutely amazing and we would go back just because of that. The service was ok and they seemed overwhelmed. I called before arriving to see if we could move up our reservation, they answered the phone and asked me to hold a moment. Fifteen minutes later we decided to just walk in to the restaurant, while I was still waiting for them to come back to the phone. After being seated we explained that we had made the reservation to celebrate birthdays and the wait staff congratulated us and told us they would bring us truffles after our meal. No truffles and no dessert because they never returned after bringing us the dessert menu. Although I'm sure it would have been amazing. As I said the food makes it woth giving them a try, hopefully you will have better luck with the service.

    The service was excellent, only to be exceeded by the delicious food. The chef came out to our table a few times. He also made a special mushroom risotto for my husband that was amazing. My lobster ravioli was so good I didn’t even let anyone at our table try it. The pasta was homemade and perfectly al dente. Our guests had the lamb over risotto and scallops. We will definitely return!
