We were very disappointed with what we thought to be a restrictive menu. I ordered a Barnsley chop, which was actually served in a bowl, and extremely difficult to cut with a knife and fork. I also asked if I could have a portion of peas instead of the ratatouille. The server asked the kitchen, and was told this wasn’t possible due to the fact they had a lot of bookings.I just find this hard to understand. This spoilt my meal. I think it was not value for money, and was supposed to be an evening out, but we left as soon as the meal was finished. It’s a shame because we had been several times before and enjoyed our meals

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The menu has pub classics but standout dishes which are a bit different too. Superb food, superb variety.

We have been to this venue on many occasions I have to say for me the food wasn’t up to it usual standard my wife had roast beef which was okay and I had roast pork which was not very good at all very tough. I didn’t complain. maybe I should’ve done But when the waitress came at the end of our meal and asked if everything was okay I just said the pork was very tough and she said she would feed it back. Didn’t hear anything from anybody after that, we paid and left hopefully another time it will be better. Service was okay as usual but wasn’t the experience we were expecting. Steve

Went for a Sunday roast and the food was unfortunately cold and the roast potatoes were rock hard. We booked a table for 3pm. Everything felt very rushed. We paid our food bill at the bar at 4pm and spent £200 for 8 of us (4 adults, 4 children). The pub closes at 5pm and when we asked for more drinks at 4:10pm we were told we can’t have any because they had already cashed up. Only after going back to the bar to ask again and state we would be gone by 5pm and say surely they can serve us a drink as they’re not closed yet we were told we will see what we can do and they eventually let us order more drinks. Not very welcoming at all and we won’t be returning.
