   I was looking for a good brunch place to take my mother for her 74th birthday. She lives in Bethesda, so I wanted somewhere close that she had not yet tried. My mother can be picky and French is typically her favorite fare. She was a fan of Mon Ami Gabi, but quality there, we feel, has significantly declined and the value proposition just isn’t enough anymore. Her go-to now, is Le Diplomat. Since I didn’t want to go downtown, a little research delivered Salt Line as a worth a shot. Online booking was easy and when we had to increase from 3 to 7, making the change was easy enough. We arrived and were seated immediately. Our server, Umi (I hope I spelled that correctly) seemed new, but was really nice and attentive. She was quite responsive and any time she didn’t know something, she was honest about it and got the answer quickly. She didn’t try to fake it. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Service throughout the meal was quick, attentive and the team worked well together. The ONLY reason that I didn’t rate the food 5 stars is because my girlfriend found the Portuguese Stew to be salty. But I’m being picky here. Shrimp from the Shrimp Cocktail were sizable! The guests that had the Oysters were quite pleased and all other dishes were unanimously delicious. Definite Recommend. Bravo to the team there!

   This is the third time we have been to the restaurant and every visit we have encountered loud banging noises from the equinox gym directly above the restaurant. It is loud enough and causes vibration that makes the entire restaurant shake. I don’t understand why the restaurant management company Does not pursue some kind of formal action with the landlord to make the health club upstairs put in padded flooring to reduce the vibration and noise from the equipment upstairs.

   Our second meal at Salt Line Bethesda. Wonderful seafood, attentive service. We will return for future special occasions.

   Salt line is our regular go to for reliably good food and drinks. Service is always friendly and prompt and it is possible to have a conversation without too much noise. We had drinks, including great martinis, oysters and one arugula and broccolini salad for appetizers. Entrees were fabulous swordfish, red snapper, a seafood platter and the pasta with seafood. Everyone was satisfied with their choices. For dessert, a tiraimisu sundae and an apple Brown Betty to share. We enjoyed everything and appreciated the ability to catch up with friends for at least two hours. There was no hurry to leave and you can be sure we will return..

   It was our first visit to this location. We went for a late lunch 3:30pm so the restaurant wasn’t busy. Service was excellent and timing was great. The server was fantastic, she greeted us warmly, asked about allergies and offered some of her favorite dishes which we appreciated. The oysters were outstanding and the smashbutger was melt in your mouth!

   Simple, unadorned, nourishing. Portion sizes were modest, costs were what one would expect for this neighborhood. As a solid casual eatery delivering fresh seafood at market rates, this is a winner.

   My lunch is experience was very good . We had great service from the front door to the meal delivery. The food was very fresh, hot, and well prepared even though we were at the tail end of the lunch time frame. Love the interior space

    Very disappointed in the service. My guest walked in to the restaurant for lunch and the host did not greet her. When we arrived and got seated, no server came to our table or provide water. After more than 10-15 minutes, I went up and complained. While things improved, we waiting fifteen minutes after our bill and credit cards were put out for someone to come back and run the cards--and that was after we had to flag another waiter down. We decided we not be going back. Food was average for price point.
