   We met Shamus the owner and he was great and spent a lot of time telling us about the restaurant and then Dorn was our server and she was just great and a lot of fun and we had the pasta dishes all three of them and they were outstanding. I would go there and eat again tonight if I could get anybody to go with me. Jim Bob

   While, I thought all of the food was incredibly fresh, I thought it was missing a little something overall. My local vegetable salad was very fresh and the greens were abundant, but I thought the dressing was a little bit sharp and the salad needed more texture. Overall it was just basic. My snapper entrée was very good, but I felt like the portion of fish was a bit small and it wasn’t super hot. The flavor was good. The carrots were outstanding. My partner ordered the octopus, which was slightly overcooked, and the romescu sauce didn’t do it for me. I was disappointed that his entrée came out quite a bit after mine. It also took quite a while to get our entrees. The place is cute and the service was excellent. I think it could be better.

   Food was amazing. The ambience is fair. Our waitress was amazing and attentive. If you are looking for white table cloth this is not it. If you are looking for casual but Noisy with great food this it.

   Salty Zebra was great! Our server was amazing. I went with my grandparents who had been there before with the same waitress and they love her. We’ll definitely be going back! Food and drinks were also amazing! Definitely recommend the Aztec old fashioned.

   This restaurant is the old Casa Cana, with the same owners, but completely revamped. Decor was attractive, with wrapping bench turquoise booths and colorful walls. Service was friendly , but they delivered two meals, and we waited long enough for the others to encourage them to start eating while it was hot. And yet waited more. The menu is not extensive. The beet salad was just beets, arranged nicely on plate, but no greens, and a few dollops of ricotta cheese topped with a candied pecan, which was overall pretty bland and uninspired. The lentil filled pasta was reportedly good, but the Steak frites were just ok. Their version of shrimp scampi arrived with the tiny shrimp, which are apparently rock shrimp, but disappointing. The snapper came on top of a very good creamed corn and potato sauce , and the fish itself was moist and nicely cooked, but was just that. The chocolate tart was replaced that night by two small flourless chocolate cake mounds accompanied by a tasty raspberry purée, which was made in house, and was fudgy and tasty, but certainly not swoon worthy. Basically, we all felt the food was good, but nothing special. Very nice for the locals perhaps, especially with the cute lounge area in the bar, but we drove 1/2hour to try it, and probably wouldn’t again.

   What a way to celebrate my birthday at The Salty Zebra! Our table was ready when we arrived… we were escorted by a very friendly hostess staff. My husband had 2 zero ( non alcoholic) margaritas which he loved. We decided to start with the delicious appetizers we had seen advertised on their Instagram page. The carpaccio special was so good & ample serving for 3 of us. We also had oysters, hot olives ( so unique) & mushroom pate which was served with bread by Johnny. We love that Salty Zebra uses so many local food artisans ( as shown on the map in their restaurant). Additionally their items are all made in house… from the smoked meats to the house made sausage to the sorbet desserts! For our entrees, we had Steak Frites ( my favorite).. it’s a grilled picanha steak with the best potato wedges & topped with a cognac sauce. My husband ordered the homemade pasta with their own sausage with broccolini & cheese… fondly called “Loveletters”. I was hoping to share but…. He ate all his pasta. The portions were a great size and the waitress packed the rest of my entre to go. Our other guest was full from the appetizers & we were all saving room for dessert. We all had the tangerine sorbet special dessert with a delicious crumble… perfect ending to a really fun dining experience. Shout out to our server, Kaylah who once again made our evening very special.

   We decided to celebrate a day early for Valentine’s and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The atmosphere, service, appetizers, and entrées were all exceptional. Salty is a hidden gem in Tequesta, offering a chic and inviting ambiance. We’re already looking forward to trying the prix fixe dining next time!
