We booked Sunday lunch here as we've had lots of lovely meals at The Six Bells before, so we were really looking forward to it. However, I was really disappointed with the lamb served. I know Lamb is a fatty meat compared to beef, but this was incredibly fatty, so much so that I had to pick tiny pieces of meat free from the fat, so I never felt I had a proper fork-full of food and my whole meal had become cold in the time it took to eat it.. The roast potatoes were listed as garlic and rosemary potatoes but I didn't detect any of either. The veg was ok, but nothing great. So all in all, it was a disappointing Sunday Lunch. Outside, the garden was looking really shabby and neglected, which was a shame considering the time of year and that it's a nice big space. It used to look quite nice, but it's been neglected, which I think is an oversight considering the pub itself looks very up to date and attractive inside. The toilets were clean, but there is always an overwhelming smell of industrial-strength toilet cleaner in the corridor leading to the loos - very off-putting when you walk through from the dining area! Overall, sadly, The Six Bells has gone down in my estimation, which is a great shame as it used to be lovely a year or so ago.

We came for lunch, 5 of us, and had 3 courses. We enjoyed the food, it was high quality and the price you'd expect for gastro pub type fare.

Staying at the Ickworth and wanted to eat out for one meal. This pub is excellent. Proper food, friendly staff. The decor is modern so don't expect traditional. The food is tasty and much better than your usual pub grub. Would definitely go back and try the dinner menu which looks amazing.

Unfortunately an unexpected coach load had turned up shortly before our arrival for a pre-booked meal so the service was extremely slow - it took almost half an hour to even get a drink. I would have to assume this isn't the normal state of affairs so it wouldn't put me off returning. The food was very good indeed and the menu was extremely interesting, some unusual choices, which proved to be very tasty. There wasn't a massive choice but there was a wide variety to chose from. There was also a nice range of unusual soft drinks, which was excellent for the driver who gets fed up with the run of the mill offerings. Clearly a lot of work has gone into refurbishment since we were last here but a return visit is definitely on the cards!

Whilst visiting friends in Norfolk we wanted to take them out for dinner. I noted the 6 Bells on Open Table and booked, expecting good solid pub food. We arrived at this unremarkable looking pub but were delighted to discover that the kitchen produced some astonishingly good and imaginative food. All four of us were exceptionally impressed. We were disappointed that the pub wasn't very busy for a Friday evening but the staff explained that this was a relatively new business. This enterprise most certainly deserves to be very successful and when it is, I hope that the kitchen brigade can manage to retain their obvious flair and productivity. EXCELLENT!!!!

We have been to this pub / restaurant two times previously, and this was the best yet. The food was excellent and beautifully presented on the plate. The service was sincere, friendly, and prompt. We couldn't fault it, and will most certainly return.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch here. Food was delicious with a good choice of drinks and some nice non-alcoholic cocktails. All served by professional and friendly staff. This was my second visit here for Sunday lunch and I will definitely go again and recommend it to anyone. Well done Six Bells!
