   Breakfast was 2 very small dry pasties, fruit juice in a shot glass (that isn’t even a joke) and a tiny spoonful of yoghurt. Lunch there were 2 options for a starter hummus of a tiny bowl of soup, main 4 options for a main fish, beef which came with an £8 surcharge for a tiny slice and 2 vegetarian options. I had a beetroot salad. Portions were small and menu was limited. The waitress didn’t really know why she was doing she must have been new bless her, she dropped and smashed a plate and the minutes later tipped a breakfast tray over one of the guests. The restaurant had a leak over the floor too. Not great for a Champneys.

   We were on a spa day with lunch included. The food was very nice but the restaurant lacks atmosphere. It’s a bit like an airport lounge.

   Our Spa day was nice and relaxing. We had the added treat of lunch in the Spa Restaurant which was delightful. We enjoyed the added luxury glorious sunshine so we sat on the terrace for the afternoon, the staff were still very attentive.

   We had a set 2 course meal as part of the spa package. We had chicken which consisted of a chicken breast, one piece of broccoli, one cabbage Leaf and one potato! A bit more veg wouldn't have killed them! It tasted nice, just wasn't much of it! The restaurant itself was looking tired and unkept. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days, and under the tables piles of crumbs etc as someone hadn't bothered to sweep right underneath. The lamp behind us was torn, not working and water stained. The celling was also water stained. Stains on the chairs, scratched floors etc. Some of my cutlery was dirty (tea stains), and the saucer my hot chocolate came on was also covered in tea stains. Plus the drink was cold. The service was OK but not overly friendly or attentive. Shame as this venue should be better.

   service slow. Staff seemed stressed. Guy delivering the food didn’t speak at all which was a bit odd. On a day spa package which included breakfast and lunch. Ordered a latte at breakfast and was told only after it delivered to the table that it was an additional cost - should have been at the time of ordering! Pudding arrived but we had no cutlery on the table. When we asked for a spoon, we were given a teaspoon each. Youngsters seemed a bit clueless.

   The restaurant was very clearly understaffed and so a wait would be understandable, however, they didn't manage it fairly, sitting people in a random order regardless of how long they had been waiting and diners already in the restaurant were craning necks to try and get service from the wait staff. I waited 20 minutes to no acknowledgement from the staff despite having a booking and attempting to have my name ticked off to the point I left without dining and no one noticed as I didn't receive a phone call asking where I was given I had made a booking.

   They were obviously having a very bad day as have had good experiences previously. Waited 20 minutes to get a menu after having to ask. Waited 55 minutes for drinks. Had already had main course by then! Apparently normal staff weren’t there so few youngsters serving who clearly had no idea what to do. They were all very friendly though and apologetic. Felt sorry for those who had treatments booked. After relaxing morning in spa - lunch certainly wasn’t but we laughed about it- reminded us of faulty towers. Meals came out kitchen then were taken back before being served! Everyone says they’d have taken any just to get sone lunch! We were given our 2 drinks for free as a goodwill gesture

   An adequate serving after a delay in taking the order. The main course was delicious...we both had gnocchi. My pud was tasteless (rhubarb cheesecake). My sister had the coconut rice pudding and she said it was lovely. After being in the warm spa, the dining room felt a little cold. The waitress who showed us to the table was polite, but after being seated it was 'if you want this it cost extra, if you want that, that is an additional cost and drinks other than water are not included'. Felt quite 'off' considering the price we had paid for the day.

    Lunch was wonderful and with such cheerful and friendly staff, made it a real pleasure. Delicious food, beautifully presented.
