First time visit to The Station House in Kilmessan in Co. Meath and an enjoyable evening was had by all. The venue was a little busy, and this impacted the experience, but should be an endorsement of an excellent bar and restaurant. The staff were most friendly, with my guest remarking that I obviously was a regular! I was not! Caroline and the other servers made that extra effort to make us feel welcome, and share the palpable level of excitement of other young couples in the hotel for a wedding tasting menu. We were there to catch up. Baed on what I experienced, I certainly would be curious to return again and enjoy the lovely atmosphere of this destination.

We recently enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Station House, and overall, it was a great experience. The food was mostly excellent—my salmon main was particularly delicious, and the yuzu tart for dessert was a standout. However, the camembert starter was disappointing, as it was overly greasy. Service was a bit mixed. We had multiple servers, and while two out of three were great, one was a little off-putting—stacking plates noisily in front of us while clearing the table, which felt a bit intrusive. There was also an error on our bill, with a €30 overcharge, but to their credit, it was resolved quickly. The setting is lovely, and while it’s on the pricier side for a Sunday lunch for four, it was still an enjoyable outing.

The the food was nice but a change to the bar food menu is long overdue and perhaps one or two daily specials on a black board menu Perhaps you should consider changing around the bar food menu every few months

Arrived at 8:15 which we had booked for. Was told table wasn’t ready and we were asked to wait in the library. We were left waiting until 8:45 at which we decided to leave. Ridiculous that a table wasn’t ready for the time booked. Very very bad service.
