An award-winning village pub, The Swan sits at the heart of the picture-perfect village of Southrop. Part of Thyme, an historic Cotswold estate, the menus celebrate the ingredients and flavours of the farm and kitchen garden, as well as using ingredients carefully sourced from local suppliers.

Locally distinct brews, wines and non-alcoholic drinks lead to an interesting drinks menu, with wines available by the glass. Our seasonal table menu ensures a country pub feel which has a good choice of simple, rustic dishes as well as your pub classic dishes.

Just a short stroll from Thyme, The Swan sits at the heart of the village of Southrop adjacent to the green. The Swan is characterised by low-slung ceilings, roaring fires and a spacious garden room. The higgledy-piggledy wooden furniture combined with bright stripes and Bertioli fabrics make the perfect setting for cosy feasting and simple merry-making.

ROLL UP, ROLL UP - IT'S QUIZ NIGHT! We’re delighted to invite you to The Swan for our quiz night, chaired by owner and quiz master extraordinaire, Jerry Hibbert. Join us from 6:30pm on Sunday 17th November, with a choice of beef or mushroom bourguignon available from 7:00pm, before the quiz commences promptly at 8:00pm. The quiz will conclude around 9:30pm, but all are encouraged to stay a while longer for a nightcap or two

The Swan is a lovely setting. The Sunday lunch was really, really tasty, though it could have been warmer. Service got slower as the meal went on and we felt a bit chilly at times. BUT we have booked again for a few weeks time and the staff member has made a note that we’d like a warmer table (our eldest guest is 86!)

We had a great Sunday lunch at the Swan. Starters were excellent and the veggie roast (salt baked celeriac) was great. We had brought a homemade cake for a friend's birthday, and they kindly presented and sliced it for us. Excellent service, and lovely setting.

Loved it! Great staff and food. Lots of options. Negroni on tap is genius, but the loganberry and rosemary one was delicious.

Good food and drinks but service from certain staff members was so bad it became a joke. Plates slammed down, no engagement telling us what is what or a simple “Enjoy”. Cheeseboard was very disappointing and made even worse by how it was delivered to us! Didn’t ruin our experience as we laughed it off but felt overpriced for overall experience.

Steak was fatty and gristly so sent back, new one was good. Chicken and pheasant pie extremely dry, no sauce at all Chips were so over cooked they were too hard to eat

The Swan pub quiz with Jerry Hibbert was such a lovely occasion. A great range of questions, a wonderful warm, cosy atmosphere and the chicken & pheasant pie was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely go again!
