   Lovely Sunday lunch at this pub! Food was fresh and hot! Cauliflower cheese was great. Service was quick and efficient without being overbearing, friendly too.

   We had a birthday meal of 11 people, would highly recommend! The food was lovely, the pub was lovely and the staff was brilliant.

   There was a choice of meals and drinks. I enjoyed my chicken pie. Service was fast and friendly, from ordering, serving to payment. The pub was warm, not always experienced at other restaurants and pubs.

   Took my daughter for lunch. Pub is nicely decorated with lovely conservatory on back and beautiful garden which I am sure is lovely in the summer. Food was hot & fresh and came in good time. service was polite & friendly. We will be back

   Lovely pub! Staff were welcoming and service was given with a smile. Food was present well- smelt and tasted delicious! I had lasagne with garlic bread and my partner had the Stilton and garlic mushroom burger! Thankyou for a nice cosy evening. Would recommend and we will be coming back.

   I was encouraged by the website and some verbal recommendations to have dinner here. It looked like it could be a slightly upmarket establishment. I was wrong. It's a 'glorified' pub and not a good one. The ambience was terrible. Bright lights light a workman's club and a somewhat unkempt appearance, particularly with coats hanging all over the place and near the serving desk. The food was mediocre at best. I had mixed grill which are uausllay quite large affairs. This was not. Two petite steaks and a sausage thrown in for good measure. The meats were cooked ok but were of poor quality. Trust me; I do not mind paying for good food but this represented appalling value for money. The service was friendly enough but lacked finesse (reminded me how my grandma used to 'throw' the plates down on the table) and knowledge about the menu. The night's last' event' really took the biscuit. It was burns night, and instead of being presented with the obligatory bill and mints, we got a bill and (1) shortbread biscuit snapped into (4) small pieces. What were you thinking? As other customers said, it looked like you'd scooped the crumbs off someone else's table. Horrid! Will I be going again? Absolutely not...it was naff.

   We appreciate your comments & the time taken to review us. I am saddened you did not enjoy your visit as we always strive that our guests have a good experience. I have looked into the things you mentioned and, where appropriate, I will do everything in my power to improve things. With regards the biscuits, in hindsight this was an error but I do have to say it was meant with the absolute best intention, the team member brought these out of her own money and just wanted to offer something that was a nod to the event, she is very upset it wasn't executed or received how she envisioned.     In all honesty, nothing really to write home about. Very much Berni Inn, Brewers Faire type of food. Carrot and Coriander soup with sour dough became Tomato Soup with two slices of bread and £9.25 for Prawn Cocktail was a bit of a rip. The mains were nice and hot though. So, nothing special but decent enough for what we paid.
