Fantastic dinner Saturday night, good ales, outstanding fish and chips, and a massive portion of squid to start. Plus a very well made Irish coffee to close. We went back for the Sunday roast. Excellent quality meats and a range of vegetables including a rather good cauliflower cheese. Great wine selection and attentive staff. Will definitely be back!!! Plus, we had 2 dogs with us, and the team could not of been more welcoming, with dog treats on the bar.

Food was good. Service very poor - not observant. We left without ordering desserts as we couldn’t get attention of waitress after having the dessert menus given to us & waiting at least 20 mins.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was amazing. Atmosphere great. A little on the pricey side BUT you get what you pay for. We had a birthday meal for my wife, they were very thoughtful and put a birthday candle on her dessert. Great place!

We had the roast pork and roast chicken. Food was tasty and variety of veg. Chicken portion was small. Service was ok but didn’t feel welcomed. The restaurant was like a canteen and not the olde world charm we were expecting from the outside. Overall a nice meal but plenty of other nicer places to try locally with a more authentic independent feel rather than a chain.

Very disappointing. We had a dinner bed and breakfast package. Our room was not ready at 2pm and the front of house male manager was rude and unhelpful. The food in the evening, in particular the starters were greasy and probably pre-packed from frozen, -and deep fried. Not sure a chef would be needed in the kitchen. The room was nice and the breakfast luckily was fine ...something of a recovery. Really should have opted to eat at the Chagford Arms.
