Executive Chef Jon Simoneau has developed a menu that features fresh, sustainable raised Colorado beef for quality steak selections and a range of New American dishes that can be enjoyed. We also have a full cocktail bar and carefully curated an extensive selection of wines that is approachable and newcomers and connoisseurs alike.

We are located adjacent to Union Station on the corner of 15th & Wynkoop. Our focus is on consistently good food without the frills and fuss of haute cuisine but delivering on 5-star service.

    2nd visit. 1st was shortly after opening. The shrimp and grits were awesome! The chix marsala was good too but heavy on the cream. Would highly recommend you give it a try.

    This was by far one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had in recent years. The service was incredibly slow, food bland and steak portions shockingly small. The server barely checked on us and actually cleared one of our drinks immediately after it was placed down (and after we waited 20 minutes and had to check that our drink order was being made). We ordered as soon as the server came to us (about 15 minutes after being seated) and still the meal took over 2 1/2 hours). I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were both extremely underwhelmed by the experience. Would absolutely not recommend coming here unless you want to be underwhelmed on all fronts for quite a price.

    I apologize for the service you experienced on the 16th. We had 3 staff call out sick and we were unable to fill their positions so we had a very busy Saturday night but our team did the best they could. I'm sorry that your meal left you underwhelmed. Our steaks sizes are listed on the menu, and we cut and weigh by hand. We do not offer 18-24 oz cuts like other establishments do so that our price points are lower than others. Your drink was immediately given back once you made us aware of the mistake. The problems all came from not having enough personnel available but unfortunately, the costs of operating in Denver are such that I cannot afford to have a large roster of backups. We truly are doing the best we can. I apologize it wasn't good enough and it absolutely wasn't.

    We went for our 2 year anniversary and it was an amazing experience to be dining with the Velvet Cellar and their staff. Champagne and a congratulatory card at our table upon arrival made us feel welcomed and cared for. Our waitress was very attentive and explained everything to us. We had the charcuterie board to start and followed with the Miso Salmon and Shrimp and Grits which were very flavorful. We also had a selection of wine by the glass and the mezcal old fashioned which I highly recommend. We also finished with the Crème Brûlée and the Cheesecake, the crème brûlée was probably the best I’ve ever had. Overall, a great experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple yet elegant meal.

    Just want to say what a great dinner experience my wife and I had the other night at the Velvet Cellar. We had never been and decided we would try it out. The food and service were spectacular and I have to say the value of what we got in both food and wine was really fantastic. It was one of the best pieces of cooked salmon I have had in a long time, and the chicken was also on point. The purple sweet potato creme brulee was truly special and something I was just wowed eating (and I am not a big sweet potato fan). One of the things I liked the most was that at the end of the evening after we had left, we got an email from the ownership thanking us for coming. While I am sure it was a form letter, the fact that they did that was really a nice touch. I look forward to going back and trying some different dishes. I am confident I won't be dissapointed.

    Absolutely outstanding. We decided to just share the shareables and that was more than enough for two of us. The Korean Lollipops and the Green Chili Arancini were fabulous. The quality of the food, drinks and service were exceptional.

    The Autumn salad was by far the most unique and tasty dish. The steak was good but not very good considering this is billed as a steak restaurant. The wine was on sale at 25% off the bottle which was appreciated. There did not seem to be much expertise for wine selection.
