   I went there with my husband, the setting is nice but the food was very disappointing. We ordered three course meals and all the dishes were too salty. The desert was below expectations too. It was the worst chocolate lava cake I ever had, it was falling apart and the molten part had a weird consistency.

   such a pleasure to sit next to the open ceiling to floor windows on a warm sunny day and feel as if you are dining on holiday in the Mediterranean. food and service excellent - it has been consistently good. one of our party has a severe nut allergy and this was immediately acted upon by staff and measures taken to ensure that all dishes served had been vetted. many thanks for that!

   Bread was heated up and dry - such a shame as their fresh bread is yummy. Starter and main course good, ginger parkin dessert strange combination of tastes; ginger parkin crunchy enough to crack veneers.

   We went for breakfast recently and the it was lovely. Great value for money in such beautiful and relaxing surroundings. Would highly recommend for breakfast (Buck's Fizz is an option as well for those special occassions). Would recommend the blueberry pancakes!

   Great food, service and value at the Vine... Beautifuly presented meals in a lovely dining room! The only problem we had was deciding what to chose off the menu!!!

   This was my second visit to the Vine and on this occasion I went with my family for Sunday lunch. I was as happy with this experience as I had been on the first trip. The food is extremely well prepared and presented. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The whole occasion was very satisfactory for us all and I will certainly return.

   No drinks list presented, wine was overpriced at £7 for a medium glass and a small bottle of soda water with a dash of lime was £3. The lamb was undercooked, and insufficient food was bulked out by a large Yorkshire pudding. The parfait dessert looked like a slice of pate and had a rubbery texture. The bottle of still water was overpriced at £4.50, as were the coffees at £3.50 each

   We have already had breakfast a few times and thought how nice it was, very good value, how ever the evening meal we felt was expensive for the menu available, they only had a set menu to offer us, I think in my view it has a lot to do with location, we are pleased we went but will only be returning for breakfast

   While restaurants in the town centre such as Cote and El Matador are fairly good, they are simply not in the same league as The Vine or The House on the Hill, for quality of food, service, or wine; yet the prices are similar. Try The Vine, you will not be disappointed.

    Moving to Sevenoaks from London a few years back, The Vine has consistently been our favourite restaurant in our new home town. Recently friends have commented that the overall experience here has dropped, which I found surprising - and hoped wasn't true. Unfortunately I'd have to agree that our night here was disappointing. The food was no where near as well cooked, and elements of each dish arrived on the plate cold. There were also many little things that spoilt the experience, that I'd never encountered here before - and certainly isn't at a level that you pay for here. Regrettably, I'd have to agree with my friends that the standard here has fallen...just hope it's temporary.
