The Wine Whisperer is a wine shop and bistro located in Richmond's Short Pump neighborhood. We speak wine and are passionate about sharing your new favorite bottle or glass with you!

Our wine bar is designed to offer an immersive experience to our guests. Let our knowledgeable staff help you learn about your palate and curate a flight of wine just for you! Look for a rotating by the glass list, craft beers, more whiskey than you imagined, and an expansive food menu built for wine pairing. The intimate dining room is a perfect spot for a casual glass with friends or that special occasion date. Look for weekly wine tastings, monthly classes, and other special events that are uniquely Whisperer!

We're transforming Whisperer into a classic Italian Ristorante for one night only and offering a fun pre-fixe menu with amazing Italian wines. Seats are $100 per person (including tax and gratuity) and include a four course meal with wine pairings. This should be a super fun evening! (Must be 21+ to enjoy the wine!) What an amazing place to unwind, eat amazing food and, of course, enjoy an extensive selection of wine. As soon as you walk in you are greeted as a friend. Treat yourself to a dealer flight and find a new go to wine. The whisperers will ask you seemingly unrelated questions, such as your favorite color or favorite candy, and craft a wine flight just for you. Enjoy a snack or dinner in the bistro and challenge a whisperer to pick the perfect wine. Josh, Alex, Ingrid or Dylan are up to the challenge and will make your visit memorable. If you have the opportunity sign up for a class with Jenna or Amber. The knowledge of these two on varietals, wine regions around the world, tasting and pairing and anything else related to wine is extensive. Like sparkling wine, attend one of Jenna’s sparkling Sundays. Don’t feel like a glass of wine, enjoy a beer or one of the crafted mixed drinks. The Wine Whisperer is not just a place to have a drink or eat dinner, it is a destination that will keep you coming back again and again.

I will probably (most definitely) never experience a glass of Screaming Eagle in my lifetime... Screaming Eagle is the second most expensive bottle of wine EVER sold at auction—it held first position for 18 years—now holds strong at #2. But at the Wine Whisperer last night, I did enjoy great food paired with this week’s Iconic Winemakers flight: Michael Silacci (Opus One), Kirk Venge (Trespass), and get this: HEIDI BARRETT. Heidi f-ing Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame. The Heidi Barrett glass in the flight wasn’t her Screaming Eagle, but rather, her work with Lamborn Family. She is now a consulting winemaker at a few estates, making her work more accessible to wine lovers, enthusiasts, and geeks-in-the-know. SHE’S AT THE WINE WHISPERER, PEOPLE. *swoon*
