All great, except the restaurant does not have air conditioning and it gets really hot in there. It kills the whole experience

It is incredibly loud and dark. It’s a club more than a restaurant. Food was okay, nothing great. Best thing we ate was the quesadilla. The octopus was dry and overcooked. The margaritas were marginal at best. We were trying to eat quickly and leave. Skipped dessert till we got back to the Las Alcobas and ate it there.

Incredibly well done interior. From the DJ spinning vinyl to the dim lit interior with real candles lighting your seating area. Drinks were great, the octopus taco, and the baby corn were fantastic.

Don't go as a solo diner, they did everything to rush me out of the restaurant. 1. I ordered food, and it arrived no more than 3 minutes later which makes me question whether food is pre-made. Had the octopus, and it was quite rubbery, so I suspect it wasn't freshly cooked. 2. I was literally still chewing my food and someone was taking my plate away. 3. I was stuck at the end of the bar where the wait staff pass through...got shoulder bumped a number of times. Generally, I felt like a second-class citizen. I left feeling pretty upset as this was supposed to be a special evening (birthday dinner) while I celebrated on my solo vacation in Mexico City.

Terrible service. Waiter tries to get 8 glasses out of each bottle of wine. Had to tell him multiple times his pour was too skimpy (and very expensive). The. He complained when I didn’t leave as much tip as he wanted. The treat customers like crap.

My husband, friends, and me were excited to try this new spot by renowned Mexican chef Enrique Olvera, but were a bit disappointed. The ambiance is cool and VERY DARK. As you come in, you feel as though you are entering a cave and pass by a barely lit central wraparound bar and a dual record player set and collection (but a DJ only spins on Fridays). The decor seemed cool, but it was hard to see. At our seats, the 4 of us shared 2 extensive menus in poor light. The bar was filled with gringos, and maybe a few hip Mexicans were seated around the bar. This, although fairly normal, was boring. There were some good people watching. Also, the ventilation was not great. It was pretty stuffy. The bilingual serving staff was very nice, but busy. It took A LONG TIME for our first round of drinks to come - I definitely love the Banana Blossom and Guanabana. They were excellent. It took a little while for the server to come back to take our order for food. We ordered the guacamole (excellent but chunky), a romescue/chili/pepita-based dip, the plump-looking corn tamale, a mushroom tlayuda, and a ripe plantain macho served in its skin with a savory chile sauce, these were excellent. My friend ordered an octopus taco, which she thought was too dry, but I would prefer they not serve octopus. She also ordered the fish on the menu topped with blackened jicama. The presentation was impressive, but the preparation turned out to be a bit bland. It was great to check out Ticuchi, and we would like to go back, but we won't be rushing. The dishes that tasted the best, felt overpriced, and the ones that were appropriately expensive were a little too weird. For a drinking spot, you almost want the food dumbed down a little so it goes down easy, and you can drink more.

Excellent place for drinks and a small plate. I would not confuse this with a full restaurant. This is a high end cocktail bar that serves small plates. An excellent choice for pre or post dinner drinks. Cocktails were superb. Music was fantastic and a very lively atmosphere.

Peto was great we asked him to order for us and it was the prefect amount of food and a great selection. Music was a bit loud making it difficult to talk at times but food was very good. Favorites were the corn tamale and campachi collar.
