Tierra del Sol is a restaurant that takes its name from the Mixtec song, a melody that has become an Oaxacan hymn.
Just like that nostalgic song, this place celebrates in its own way the culture of an exceptional people: the Mixtec or ñuu savi; the first does it with her poetry and the second with her food.
Our chef: Olga Cabrera, cook, is the architect of such gastronomic praise, and she achieves it from the knowledge and respect for an ancient cuisine that she inherited from the women of her family and her community, Huajuapan – in the heart of the Mixteca region of Oaxaca -, a knowledge that seasons with his special passion for traditional dishes.

    La comida no es mala, pero para los precios deja mucho que desear. El calor es insoportable y lo tienen un solo ventilador en la terraza. Es una pena que estando en Oaxaca los platos sean de porcelana importada. Hay muchísimos meseros pero poco atentos a las necesidades de los clientes.

    El personal amable. La bienvenida con “tortilla” y salsa buena. Es show, pero se vale! Ensalada con frijoles muy buena y el mole “de fiesta”exquisito, aunque quizás deberían de incorporar pechuga de polllo para quienes no tomamos guajolote. El postre deli. El mezcal muy bueno 🤗 Recomendable.

    Interesting concept and very pretty house however the service is slow and patchy (missing engagement and advice) at times (yet cordial and professional). The food is good even very good (loved the taste and texture of the sopa de frijoles) yet the value for money is not there. Overall flavors are interesting but not much depth and generally too mild. Cocktails are ok. Overall ok but probably too touristy for us.

    Me gustó, ya hemos visitado en varias ocasiones el lugar. La comida muy rica y el servicio bueno. Sin embargo esta ocasión aún con todo y reservación , la mesa que nos ofrecían no cumplía con lo que buscabamos. Por lo que esperamos casi 20 minutos, supuestamente para esperar otra mesa. Finalmente nos volvieron a asignar una mesa y no fue de nuestro agrado.
