   This place is not what it used to be. My crab cake had a ton of filler. It was dry and had a burned taste to it. Presentation of my food could’ve been better as well. My broccoli was very cold as well. My stuffed shrimp didn’t have any taste whatsoever and my scallops were very chewy.

   The hostess wasn’t friendly. However, our waitress was exceptionally friendly, polite, and attentive which made it a very pleasant experience. Though there was one incident that turned my stomach sour; I went to the bathroom in the middle of our meal. One of the staff members had just come out of the stall. She went to the sink, wet her hands lightly with water and then ran her hands over her hair to slick it down more into place. She took one more look in the mirror before leaving out of the bathroom. I was grossed out because she didn’t even think to wash her hands, even after seeing me, a patron of the restaurant in the bathroom watching all of this unfold. To the managers and owners of this restaurant, please teach your staff the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation, especially after using the bathroom.

   My experience is usually great every time I visit here. My only problem this time was that they didn't have lamb chops on the menu, but it's on their website. I had the lamb chops here before, so I thought they would have them. I was a little disappointed because that's what I came for. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the food I did order. My suggestion is, if they are seasonal or whatever the reason they don't have them they should be removed from the menu on the website and added to the menu in the restaurant when they are available. Like for a special or something.

   The food was mostly excellent. My husband loved his platter of crab cakes, scallops, and shrimp, and we enjoyed the real sangria. However, the biggest disappointment was my lobster tail, it was completely overcooked and inedible. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I endured the meal, but it was truly unacceptable. Thankfully, my crab cake was well-prepared and saved the experience. Regarding the "specialty" sangria, we ordered it without carefully reading the description and later realized it contained no wine—just rum, making it more like a Mai Tai. While we understand that the ingredients were listed, the name was misleading, and it would help if the menu clarified that it's a rum-based cocktail rather than traditional sangria.

   Our food at Timbuktu was delicious and our server was attentive. I ordered Jewels of the Sea. My crab cake was scrumptious.

   Party of 4 with a mid-week 7:30 PM reservation. Seated immediately and greeted by our waiter. Drinks arrived promptly and our orders were taken. Service was a bit slow considering it was middle of the week and the restaurant was sparsely occupied. The food, as always, was excellent and prepared perfectly. The party enjoyed: Deluxe chicken breast sandwich, seafood Diablo, Broiled seafood platter (incredible) and two stuffed soft-shell crabs (also incredible and highly recommended). Our go-to stop when returning to BWI. Only 8-minutes from the airport or hotels.
