   It’s the best Toby carvery we have ever been too, we came up from Bristol to surprise a friend and I would highly recommend this place

   Reserved a table, had the confirmation email but when I arrived there was no reservation for me. That's the 2nd time in the last 3 bookings that has happened at Toby. Luckily there was a table available but it probably annoyed the 30 or so people waiting. I went at peak-time on a bank holiday which wasn't the best idea. In general the food was ok but they always struggle to get their potatoes cooked nicely.

   Not enough staff we waited nearly half an hour to be served if I hadn't had gone to asked to served it could have been longer not happy with this as we had a child with us it is not acceptable over all the food was great

   My 8 yo GD had asked to eat at the Toby for her pre-birthday treat. We both enjoyed our carvery meals but I had to wait a long time to attract the attention of the waitress even thouugh our cutlery was closed indicating we had finished eating. I then asked for a "doggy-bag" in which to place the uneaten meat for our dog. She then took a while to come back & say they had no boxes but only paper bags. I accepted this offer & waited a long time for her to return. My GD then asked for a 'design your own sundae' ....she has had this before & the selection of items to add were very few...I think there were 3 items compared to the 6 when we were there in January to celebrate her brother's birthday. I was very tired by this time & didn't feel that I had the energy to take up these matters with a manager.

   We all enjoyed our visit and we are planning to return this weekend for my sister's 60th birthday, so we are hoping that we have the same experience.
