   Tokyo Bird blew me away. The food was phenomenal—every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. The service? Impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. What really surprised me was how affordable it all was. For the quality of both food and experience, it felt like a steal. And the whiskey selection? Absolutely next-level. If you’re a fan, this place is a dream come true. Whether you’re going for a casual night out or something a little special, Tokyo Bird nails it on every front. Can’t wait to go back.

   Great bar tucked in a side street of Surry Hills. Wonderful service, delicious food and creative cocktails. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

   Had an amazing time last night! My friend and I arrived around 7pm to a bustling space of dim lights, gorgeous smells and Studio Ghibli playing on a small sidewall. We ordered the blended Japanese whiskies flight. I usually am not big into whiskey (my friend is the connoisseur) but I actually liked these! In fact the Hibiki Japanese Harmony was so good I plan to buy a bottle. Food wise we had 3 vege skewers (eggplant, mushroom, agadashi tofu), the charred broccolini and corn ribs. Favourites were the mushrooms and broccolini but overall everything was great. Big thank you to Tokyo Bird for a great night and we’ll definitely be back again.

   Fantastic atmosphere and service but food was disappointing. Some Yakitori were served cold, unseasoned, and/or seasoned with weird ‘ta-re’. If you are expecting authentic Japanese food, maybe not the right venue.

   We sat in a seperate room at the front with very little ambience. Drinks took 15-20 mins.

   Servers were very lovely, and the food came really quickly. Tad bit on the expensive side, and it can get quite loud during peak hours, but otherwise a fantastic place for a special night.

    Awesome atmosphere and ambiance. Was a bit busy and one of our dishes arrived 7 minutes before our 1.30mins slot timed out, so we had to rush thru it which was disappointing. The sake was very good and overall it was a great experience.
