   Very good chicken and cabbage salad. Whiskey sour was one of the best in town. Pretty good value for the quality.

   We made the mistake of going on a Sunday evening. After being seated outside we were forgotten. When I went back inside to find our server, we were told that they were out of a number of menu items. We made the best of it and sat riverside with our drinks.

   The chicken karaage and the green beans were delicious. The Mac and cheese was an interesting concept on paper but failed on flavor and the texture was just weird. The burger lacked flavor and the brisket egg rolls lacked salt (which may be the issue all around). Just disappointing. If you come here get the classics, they do those well. If it weren’t so expensive I would have just accepted defeat but 20+ for a burger (not including the fries that also lacked salt) that has no flavor? I’m bummed.

   A group of 6 of us enjoyed the restaurant and the food but there was one exception. Our entree's did not come out in one batch. Instead they were to the table during a 15 min span from the first meal to the last. All items tasted great and we enjoyed the cocktails as well.

   Great spot with yummy items on the menu. the Lords of Death cocktail was excellent. we had the Chicken Dumplings, Kimchi Salad, Fries and Shrimp & Noodleswhich was our favorite!

   The service was good. We were charged $51 for a tip with a party of 8. We were not informed there would be 20% gratuity added. Perhaps I should have known but, perhaps we should have been told. My main complaint was the food and prices. The food was way more Tokyo than cowboy and we were told the portions were “large and family style”. I did not feel that was so. The Mac and cheese was served lukewarm and had a weird mouthfeel. The brisket egg roll at $9 was just ridiculous. The taste was good but, come on, at that price there should have been two! I had literally one waffle cut into four little squares for $17! They just weren’t that great and way overpriced. I think if the flavors would have been awesome then the prices would have been more understandable. Lastly, after I got home and looked over the bill more closely, I was charged $10 for a food item we never received.

    Great meal and service at Tokyo Cowboy. My wife and I had a great vacation in San Antonio. Several great meals, yet Tokyo Cowboy was the best! Food was very unique, and while we read a few comments about food delivered to the table at inconsistent times (i.e., entrees may arrive before apps), we enjoyed food being delivered when ready to serve. Highly recommend.
