We sat outdoors and it was very private, even though the patio was off the boardwalk of the resort. The setting was surrounded by beautiful, tropical plants and palm trees, adding to the ambiance of our fine dining experience. I had the Gamberi Al Vino Bianco, which was shrimp sauteed in white wine with lemon zest, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I've eaten shrimp around the globe and this was one of the best shrimp dishes I've ever had. Everyone in our party was delighted with their menu choices for dinner and drinks, including the lovely Tiramisu dessert that was prepared tableside. Tramonto has exquisite Italian cuisine and provides a memorable dining experience for guests with a menu that has budget friendly options, along with high end offerings. I often think of Italian cuisine as being heavy with sauces and pastas but there was a lightness to our dishes from the bruschetta to the lasagna, and including the Tiramisu dessert that helped us enjoy the meal even more. This restaurant is a true gem.

Some was great others not so much. Our food came out cold and had to send back. Our friends was fine. A bit overpriced for acaptured guests.

Proportion size was generous. The lasagna was tasty. That’s where the good news ends. The pappardelle was mushy and overdone. The Cesar salad was overloaded with anchovy paste and grated cheese. The service was rushed. The server tried to take my unfinished appetizer. I waved him away so he pushed the plate to the side and put my entree in front of me. There was no thought to allowing space between appetizer and entree. Loud and crowded, it was get them in and out. After 10+ years, a disappointing experience.

Underwhelming food. Pasta was hard and overcooked ok both our gluten versions and our regular pasta. Salmon came undercooked and they had to cook it again. A spicy dish ordered had no flavor. Very expensive meal and we all left hungry.

Pompadour sauce tasted like barbecue, with some chewy bits but the noodles were good and hot. Spaghetti and meatballs served cold! Twice!

The Tramonto in the Riviera Mayan Vidanta is much better. It has a nicer location as well. When we arrived for our 6:30 reservation there was a line of ten plus people ahead of us with only one hostess to seat people so we stood for twenty minutes. The service was adequate but not as charming as we have experienced in the past. Our Burrata salad was excellent and my lasagne good but again not as tasty as in the Rivera Mayan. This is the most expensive place on campus. Better to go to Portobellos near the Sea Garden on the lagoon or take a taxi to Bucerías to Meso Giorno for a lovely dinner on the beach. Great prices and great food.
