If youre looking for the feel and look of the original Tropicana, sadly the past is gone. The entire complex has been beautifully renovated, and I hope they are successful. If you want to stay in town and enjoy peace and quiet, yet be able to walk out to the historic center and art district, you can’t go wrong. Gone is the Cubano bands and bar with overlooking balcony, and in its place is a beautiful bar with tables for drinks and dinner. The sidewalk dining area has the same feel, but I do agree, the menu is limited. That being said, it was the best “catch of the day” dinner I have ever had. The sea bass was cooked to perfection in a mango purée and veggies. The staff was very friendly, and we dined with live music outside. I did not feel as though the prices were any higher than most of the restaurants you now find in Los Cabos. After 18 years of dining and staying at the Tropicana, it was hard to see the change, but I will go back.

Menu was so limited and pricey. Only ones in restaurant at 7 pm. No flexibility. Told they only had one serving of clam chowder menu say Caesar salad had fried chicken. It came with a small amount of chicken skin. Staff are pleasant but seem to not have any discretion. I think the management and chef) new) are making some new decisions. Fix the menu. Almost nothing on it. I do not recommend

Totally different layout from what I remember from before. Nice high ceilings and beautiful bar in a spacious room, but it also felt like we were in a cafeteria with cheaper looking tables & chairs laid out uniformly in a big room. We just had a drink and appetizer, which were very good, but pricey for the amount you got. Servers were attentive — almost too attentive, as they kept coming around to pick up plates, but we weren’t finished yet, so they should try and wait until there’s nothing left on the plate or more time has passed. Other than that, they were all courteous and professional. The bathroom was small for such a big dining room.

Excelente opción en pleno centro de San José! La comida de otro nivel, mariscos frescos de la zona con un toque exquisito. La ensalada otro nivel. Volveremos!
