   Truluck’s never disappoints. Wait staff overcame a small snafu with one dish and comped desserts. Great venue for celebrating special occasions albeit a bit pricey. Presentation of food dishes was outstanding.

   Our server was knowledgeable and had the perfect situational awareness. Wife’s birthday and it was special. Food was outstanding and the atmosphere was amazing. 10/10 would recommend for a special occasion!

   My friend and I really looked forward to a special night out and special food. The food was largely disappointing. The shrimp was overcooked and the scallops were tasteless.

   Truluck's is our go-to for special occasions. We decided to try out the Downtown Truluck's for New Years Eve, and it was honestly a little off compared to our usual experience -- most likely due to the holiday. Our food was fantastic and the drinks were quite good, but it felt like we were waiting for quite some time to be attended to after being sat. Recognizing that it was a holiday, we wanted to be considerate of the waitstaff & kitchen who probably wanted to be out of there as soon as possible after closing. However, it took at least 10 minutes to see our waiter after seating, and the rest of the night, we were unable to order our next course or additional drinks promptly --- so much so, at the end of our meal, we were trying to order one last drink to close out and were informed that the bar had already closed for the evening (despite not being informed that it was last call). Truluck's is usually a never-miss, but this night was the first time we've had a bad experience. We're chalking it up to the holiday, and will definitely give Truluck's another chance.

   We attended the NYE prepared menu dinner. Truluck’s is a gem. This round the Lobster Bisque was low warm, borderline cold. We requested a glass of wine, and arrived 10 min into entrees. Steak was best in class, one of the best yet in our Austin steak ventures. As well as the sides (Lobster Mac & Cheese & Asparagus). Overall dinner was great, though as a huge lobster bisque fan I wish it the restaurant would have been more thoughtful before sending to table. Any prior visit, the serving dish emits visual steam from warmth.

   We’ve made it a tradition to go there for NYE the last several years. Went at 5:30pm. Seemed rushed already. Food didn’t taste the best compared to the usual. And really it’s over priced for what you get- service and food. Likely won’t go next NYE.
