   Had a really wonderful dinner tonight at Tzeva Restaurant Tzeva Sarasota in the Art Ovation Hotel, Autograph Collection downtown. The food is a blend of Mediterranean delights, everything was done perfectly from the starters of Hummous and Toasted Feta Cheese with Thyme Honey, Dukkha, and Castelvetrano Olives plus accompanying warm Pita Bread to delicious Falafel with Smoked Tomato Chutney, wonderful Grouper Shaslik Kebabs with Fennel Orange Salad was perfectly cooked and while spicy, it was excellent—the waitress correctly gave me a heads up before taking the order and perhaps my favorite among favorites were the succulent Wagyu Short Ribs with amazing Golden Saffron Mashed Potatoes and Apricot Chutney which had my mouth watering—and dessert, which I usually skip was worth saving room for! Black Sesame Crème Brûlée. Yum! Service was spot on, nice ambience, a well-appointed wine list, interesting cocktails, some happy hour specials and a belly dancer added to the authenticity and fun! The room is contemporary and comfortable, the high ceilings, shiny wooden floors, large live plants and floor to ceiling windows helped create a welcoming ambience. Chef Ken Shiro and Tzeva are a great addition to Sarasota, this is way more than a typical “hotel restaurant.” Service was warm, friendly, professional, and efficient, Mary the Manager made sure to stop at least once at every table to ensure everything was to our liking and make folks feel welcome. It’s little touches like being acknowledged and checked in on during the course of the meal, having your water glass refilled without asking, and my waitress, Bucru even brought a brighter table lamp over without my asking, as she saw I was photographing my food (which I always do) and thought it would be helpful. Little things like staff that go the extra mile separate a good meal from a great meal.

   We had a wonderful time with friends. The food was so flavorful, the staff very attentive, and the ambiance was serene. We loved it!

   This was our first time there but we will be back . The ambience, food and service was top notch! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Our server, I think his name is Pedro. He made suggestions that were right on. The food was amazing. Overall I would give it 5+ stars !

   Pietro was an outstanding waiter....attentive and took extra care with some of our questions. Hummus, falafel, lamb k-bobs....all delish!

   The food was absolutely delicious, appealing and attractively presented. Being in an art museum complimented and enhanced the lovely restaurant atmosphere. We appreciated the friendly and comfortable service.

   Food and service were excellent as usual. Sadly, our enjoyment of the evening was ruined by a woman loudly talking on her phone using the speaker for at least 15 minutes. Very rude and disruptive! Staff/ manager should have stopped that inappropriate behavior when it became obvious that other diners were being disturbed.

   We had dinner reservations for Sunday evening at 6:15. No one at the door or inside to greet us and seat us. Had to find someone in the lobby. There were only a few other tables occupied. Basically, we were left on our own for a while before anyone came by to take our order. Then we waited. And waited. When we were finished with our appetizers, it took almost 30 minutes for someone to take away the dirty plates, which we had to ask for. We didn’t get the main course kabobs, which we shared, until we’d been there for 45 minutes. The service was mediocre, as was the ambiance and the food, which came out cool and was not particularly special. Very disappointing.

   Great place to go before the FST Theater! Very noisy last night, band in the loby, maybe some doors on the resrsurant.

    The food and drinks were very good. We had the white bean hummus, the grilled vegetables, and the feta. All very delicious. The only downside was that we were the only people in the restaurant, but it is off season. Like to come back when there is more energy.
