Ulu Kitchen by Merriman is an ocean front restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service featuring local ingredients and recipes created by chef Peter Merriman.

We have indoor and outdoor dining options, with a full bar, and the most prime dining views in all of Ka'anapali. The breakfast menu features classic favorites like Eggs Benedits, omelettes, pancakes, as well as some unique dishes like the cure (breakfast ramen) and our Hawaiian chilaquiles.

Lunch features our signature smash burger, fresh ahi tuna poke bowl, tempura battered fish and chips, and a fresh local veggie wrap.

Dinner has a seafood forward menu featuring Ahi Sashimi, Grilled Tako, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli. From the land we offer a USDA Prime Beef Filet Mignon, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger, and Maui Nut Venison Loin.

    We had a reservation for 8 PM. The hostess at counter left us waiting for ten minutes before they had a table ready. That can happen. But if there are so many empty tables you can see at first sight and there are 4 employees having fun together instead of preparing a table you don’t feel very welcome. After sitting at the table without getting any attention for another ten minutes, Ken brought us some water and took our orders. At 8.30 we received our drinks and at 8.50 PM our food. No one was unfriendly, but that is just not the service I would expect at a Westin restaurant and it was the contrary of the wonderful experience we had the night before at the same place!

    Food was incredible and service was excellent. We dined at the bar and the bar staff was super friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back again on our stay.

    We had a wonderful dinner. The food was so flavorful. Great variety of wine and entrees to choose from. Thank you for the wonderful table with ocean front view!

    Food was excellent, staff were attentive and friendly . We had a seat right by the boardwalk with a view of the ocean , all in all a really lovely experience. We would definitely go back .

    The setting was lovely, the waiter (Nick) was awesome and the food was phenomenal. We took Nick’s recommendations for appetizers (coconut shrimp and crab cakes). Both were excellent. Our meal was delicious. This is my new favorite restaurant on Ka’anapli beach.

    We had a table with the best sunset view. My fish (monchong) was overcooked and my husband’s filet was good but he has had better. Our waitstaff, John, was great!

    Our server, Nick, was very on point with everything explaining what are some of the best items to try. I had the scallops and my wife had the lobster ravioli. There were only five pieces of ravioli, but was more than enough for my wife. The scallops were excellent also. We ate early so it was not crowded. Very nice venue and a good secret yet. We will definitely go back. It is part of thel Merriman chain of restaurants. Expect the prices to be a little higher, if you can afford it then enjoy.

    Beautiful location, however the service was not what you would expect from a restaurant like that. Our server was new and didn't know the menu. Ordered a dirty vodka martini on the rocks and it arrived straight up then when our bill came we were charged for a double when I didn't order a double. Food was good.
