   We used to go to Umai on Queensferry Road. Pleased to report the new location on Dalry road is excellent. The restaurant is simply but beautifully decorated and best of all, the sushi is as delicious and fresh as always was, and beautifully presented.

   Food was amazing and the staff were really attentive and friendly. Such a nice atmosphere in the restaurant too.

   Restaurant, food and service are so nice! They brought a cheescake in our table as a birthday surprise!! It is not the first time that we go to Umai and will not be the last :)

   Restaurant has such a nice vibe but doesn’t really relate too much to Japan. Cutlery and crockery were lovely and good quality. Ramen was £14 with 4 small cuts of pork belly and a broth lacking flavour. And you committed the cardinal sin - you put sweetcorn in it. No no no. That’s not Japanese. Gyozas were lovely but more like steam dumplings - should be fried well on one side then steamed. I see there’s fusion there but I was seeking authenticity. Been before in our last place and had the sushi and it was lovely. No one checked in with us until after the meal. Shame.
