   Went on NYE and should have stayed home. Drove 35 minutes to get there, thinking it would be worth the drive to try something new. Entered with me and my two teen boys. Boys were treated like babies, being called "Buddy" and such by the server. Was obvious my boys have more fine dining experience than the server. Found this place online and was wowed by the photos of their food. Ordered, then after waiting almost 30 minutes, the server came back to our table to let us know they were out of short rib my son ordered. After selecting another dish, we waited another 20 minutes for food to be brought out. Almost 45 minutes between apps and entrees. Not once did the server come to the table to ask if we needed new drinks, or to remove appetizer dishes. Had to ask a different server twice for things we needed. Food was decent, had the beef stroganoff. Wasn't spectacular. I realize it was NYE and nobody wants to work, which is why I was planning on really tipping the server very well due to her having to work this night. Just couldn't bring myself to tip 20% when we were forgotten about most of the night. Won't return.

   We had a lovely dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary. The service was good and on a Tuesday night the restaurant was very slow. I’ve been to the foxboro location a number of times and always give 5 stars for a creative and delicious menu. I wasn’t as impressed with the Taunton menu. We shared the crispy Brussels sprouts, bison chili, Caesar salad, and wings. The Brussels were the highlight. They were crispy and delicious. There were very few gluten free options and tons of fried food.

   It was our first time at Union Straw, but it will not be my last. Cozy comfortable atmosphere. The staff was excellent. The gentleman who waited on us was very knowledgeable about their menu. We truly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent. I am looking forward to trying other menu selections. I had the bourbon porkchops 🔥

    This was our first time to Union Straw and we will certainly be back! The service was great! Our waitress knew the menu well and helped give good recommendations. The food came out quickly and had nice presentation. The food was fantastic! I had the beef stroganoff and the flavor was just perfect. The fresh pasta makes and mushrooms give the dish good texture. My husband had the chicken and waffles, and as a southerner he has discerning palette when it comes to this dish. He said it was incredible and some of the best he’s ever had. Truly high praise. Our friends had been to the restaurant that was in this location before and didn’t have a good experience. They were so glad to know it’s a different restaurant since January 2024. So don’t be confused as they booth had union in the title, but you should absolutely come eat here. We will absolutely be back!
