   In my opinion this is one of Melbourne”s best restaurants. Food was amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant that ticks all the boxes.

   I have had very pleasant dining experiences here in the past but last Saturday evening was disappointing. I believe the unnecessary and rather rude comment from the Maître D about us needing to put in our order soon due to our slightly delayed arrival (the restaurant was empty at 5pm so a 15-minute delay shouldn’t have been a drama) set a negative tone and for a beautiful restaurant like Va Tutto this is totally unprofessional. Our meals were mostly delicious except my partner’s fish dish was just average. After spending $350 I feel let down as I would expect much better.

   We were very much looking forward to a relaxing , comfortable dining out experience . A place where you are made to feel at home and happy . Strangest experience …. Tables very close to each other , food very average , dietary requirements not really respected . Asking for diary free due to a life threatening condition , I was asked when asking to swap out the mash - how allergic are you . Then told that I can order a side to replace it . I did call earlier in day to check if diary free can be accommodated , and was told yes . It might be an idea to simply say we do not wish to cater for any dietary requirements and allow guests to then make alternative arrangements .

   Va Tutto is Ivanhoe's best dining experience and it is resoundingly reliable. Excellent service delightful meals and a relaxed and friendly ambience. I will keep coming back because it always gets it right.

   Great staff generally only issue was I believe it may have been a manager, Maitre D or owner even who was an older person that greeted us from the bar when we got there just get told and pointed to where our table was. This same person then got short with me when she asked me if I wanted another Beer, I mentioned the first one wasn't very cold. Her reply was, ' well it came from the fridge, do you want another one or not '. This is trivial but very ordinary on her behalf as the rest of the waiting staff were great. Great food.

   What an amazing and delicious night. The Hanger Steak was so juicy and melted in your mouth. The grilled pork was full of flavour and grilled lamb was amazing. The dessert was on a whole other level the stick date was perfectly balanced, along with the profiteroles which were crispy on the outside and the filling flawless. Finally the apple and custard calzone felt like romance on a plate with a big hug. Thank you to all the staff, they were extraordinary, the attention to detail was great!

    The atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant and relaxing. The service was excellent, and the staff were polite and professional. The food was absolutely delicious and of high quality. Even my daughter, who is usually a picky eater, enjoyed everything! We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back again.
