   Well worth the money. Staff is incredible and setting was relaxing. We tip small tips to our wait staff and at the end. They work hard & should get competitive wage for what they do. Again just our opinion with tips.. Truly worth it. You will not regret going to Veleros.

   Todo estuvo muy bien. El lugar hermoso. La atención de Alexis excelente. Comí tacos de pescado riquísimos. Una orden de papas a la francesa muy ricas. Tomé 2 cubitas, un clamato y una Coca. Todo por los $1,400 del day pass. Valió la pena!!! Super lugar!!!

    I visited Veleros yesterday, hoping to spend a nice beach day with my girlfriend. I remembered the place as being pleasant, and while it can be a bit pricey for locals, I believe a valuable experience is worth the cost. Upon arrival, there were three security checkpoints to access the parking area. At the first checkpoint, I was asked if I had a reservation. As this was a spontaneous plan, I didn’t have one and was waiting to see if there was space available, and they let me through. At the second checkpoint, however, they refused me access without a reservation, which I understood given the day. However, the security staff's attitude lacked any sense of service. Instead of saying, "We need to check if there's availability," he bluntly told me that without a reservation, I couldn’t enter and suggested I make one on OpenTable. I spent five minutes blocking the way when he could have simply mentioned that walk-ins were possible if there was space. When I finally spoke to the hostess, she mentioned that this was a direct order from the manager. At the same time, another couple arrived with the same issue. This seems like an area that needs attention, as I was very close to leaving (although it seems the local market may not be their primary concern). Once inside, I felt a bit on edge, which is understandable in the service industry; your mind gets defensive when the first contact (main gate) is unfriendly. On the beach, a group of foreigners was attended to first, with their loungers set up and orders taken before ours (sadly, not surprising). When I asked the attendant to move my umbrella, he did so with such a bad attitude that I preferred to do it myself later on. The food was good, though the portions were small as there’s a minimum consumption requirement, which is common in local businesses, so you accept the rules. The service improved slightly but never reached a level that would make me say, "Wow."
