   We love this place and always make a stop when we travel through SC. They have a fun diverse menu and high quality ingredients. The drinks are fun and tasty. My only complaint is the bussers can over bus the tables. Meaning, they take your plates before you’ve completely finished. I want to be able to scrape up the last morsel but the plate is usually whisked away too soon. I’d like to keep my plates a bit longer for dipping in the sauce or whatever. Not usually an Issue but was bugged by it last night. Other than that this place rocks. Service is spot on too.

   Focaccia was stale. Service was spotty. Entrees were all pretty good but not great. Drinks took a long time but were pretty good.

   We were quickly seated for our 5:30 reservation, from a friendly person. From attentive wait staff refilling water glasses continuously to a server who checked in frequently enough, but not too much we appreciated the great service. To this point, I believe whoever is training the team they are consistent and effective- since every person we interacted with was friendly and willing to help. Cocktails were memorable and our Pinot was a great outing for the meal. All of the entrees had great flavor and were served timely; temp was perfect and at the same time. Always wonderful to enjoy professional service and exceptional food!

As for the food, each dish we tried was outstanding, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors that left a lasting impression. The cocktails were equally remarkable, expertly crafted with creative combinations that elevated our dining experience.    We were able to snag a last minute table at 5:30 p.m. on the patio on New Year's Eve. The Patio heaters made for a very cozy space. Indigo was our wait staff and she was prompt and knowledgeable. Both my husband and I ordered the New York strip medium. The steak was delicious as was the broccolini. However the potatoes were somewhat inedible as they were smashed and then cooked/fried in duck fat rendering them so hard and crisp that we were fearful of breaking a tooth. Fortunately, one or two were partially salvageable. My husband enjoyed his Gin & Tonic. I had the Bourbon Smash which was meh. I would try Venus again but not order the steak or specify a modification of the potatoes.

    We loved our meal at Venus. Noel was an exceptional server. She knew the menu and offered great suggestions. We will be back.
