   The service was excellent, and the interior and bar were beautiful. Loved the lamb ravioli (though it’s andante, so not for everyone) and the mushroom pizza, unique and flavorful. The standout was the creative Caesar salad, truly amazing. Highly recommend!

   The lighting is way too bright, so if ambiance is your thing, maybe try another spot. The servers kept leaving the outside door wide open causing a consistent draft during the whole dinner. The food was okay, a little disappointed in the Salumi pizza as it tasted like Frank’s Red Hot was in it and everything came out orange, kind of funny. The cavatelli was cooked perfectly, although it had something like a vodka sauce and then a drizzle of pesto sauce which was not a great combination. The bartenders were total brats. The server was sweet and efficient. It’s a decent spot for being in Mammoth, but I’m unsure if I will go back.

   Our entire dinner experience was exceptional. Service was very friendly and attentive, food was absolutely outstanding. The risotto with dungeness crab was so Voltaggio - inventive, unpretentious, absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend enough!!

   Carpaccio was great with the cheese sauce on the side, two pastas were very al dente, I’d request mine to be cooked longer next visit. The burratta app was the table favorite.

   We were last here about 10 months ago and this time was such a disappointment compared to last time. I don’t know if management changed or the chefs/cooks changed. The service was especially bad, from greeter to server. We didn’t feel welcomed, mostly a burden to them. I asked about a bottle of wine. Server said he doesn’t remember tasting it but didn’t offer to ask anyone else for us. Then he brought the wrong bottle of wine and acted bothered when I pointed out his mistake even though I didn’t even let him open it yet. Then never came back to pour refills for our glasses. We self served all our wine bottle. We asked for ice for our water and had to remind him twice before we got any ice. Then he delivered the check when we we said we didn’t plan to order deserts…but still have half a bottle of wine to drink that he didn’t bother pouring for us and my husband still had 1/3 of his steak to finish. He kept checking back to see if we have put our credit card in the slot…probably the most attentive 20 minutes he gave us during our entire time there! The food quality was also a disappointment this time. The pizza and pasta are still good. The Caesar salad didn’t taste like Caesar salad. And the $85 ribeye was the thinnest chewiest piece if steak we’ve had in a long while! Even though we listened to the server and ordered it Medium instead of our usual medium rare preference. Beyond that, both the steak and the accompanying polenta was overly salty. The steak we had the previous visit was a lot more enjoyable and almost 1/2 less expensive! If we come back, and that’s a big IF, we’ll just stick to pizza and pasta.

    Thank you to the team at Vulcania for an amazing birthday dinner. Truly memorable and delicious! Shout out to David and Dakota for taking great care of us. We will be back again :)
