The pub phoned me before I arrived to ask me to pre-order from the festive menu, but didn't sound happy we only wanted the normal menu. It was very obvious why when we arrived, we were the only ones eating, and they couldn't wait to get shot of us. Very pushy when ordering, we were going to have a main and a dessert. Once our mains arrived, which were ok, but not great, (frozen pie, not fresh etc) - staff were nonvisible. We waited 15 mins for a member of the bar staff to come and see "if we wanted any more drinks from the bar, or just wanted to pay" - So...no dessert offered, we asked for a coffee, but were told "no coffee, we've just turned the machine off" - this was at 8.30pm!! on a Saturday night!!! All in all, rude and unhelpful staff that were more interested in texting and posting on Facebook on their phones and getting customer's out so they could close early than tending to customers. In the end I had to go to the bar and pay, as getting anyone to come back to ACTUALLY pay once the bill arrived was impossible. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK FOR SOME TIME!!

It took over an hour to get seated even though we arrived at the time our table was due. They had no wine glasses so we're given beaker cups and large gin glasses for our wine. They were very understaffed only 2 bar staff and 2 servers for a whole pub of over 200 people during the whole of Christmas Day. The Christmas day dinner was inedible. It was cremated completely burned,.cold, and the veg was completely raw. We was due to have our dinner at 2pm we didn't actually get it seved until 4pm but as stated it was inedible. It wasn't just our dinner it was chaos as every table was sending their dinners back for the same issues, some dinners burned, cold ,items missing. This was meant to be a fantastic family Christmas day dinner, but sadly this did not happen! We didn't stay for the desert. We paid for our drinks and the starter we ate, but refused the rest of the courses and refused to pay for it. As did many, many other tables which were also full of families, some with small children, that also left Hungary and disappointed! We will never return again!

Our table wasn’t ready for us on arrival and had to wait 15 minutes. After waiting a long time to order food , several dishes had been taken off the menu. We had to send our soup back as it was cold. The lasagne was almost inedible, sausages over cooked, naan bread like a board and garlic bread burnt . We did complain on several occasions, to the staff. All the management offered was to take the price of a glass of wine off our bill.

Food was good and service was good and friendly. Despite booking specific part of restaurant, on arrival we were told it was not available and we're placed in main pub area (noisy). We should have been called if chosen location not available.

Food was very good, hot when served. We chose off the festive menu, which had a good choice of food. Waiter was very good It isn’t the first time we have been to the Waggon and Horses as we sometimes go for family lunch and have never had any complaints about the food, that is why we chose to go with friends for an early Christmas celebration. Rate this pub/restaurant very highly
