Pale straw yellow colour with large green tinges, fine and persistent. Taste is fragrant, fruity and gentle, reminiscent of acacia flowers with elegant, fresh and harmonious bouquet
Daosa Natural Reserve NV 'Method Classic' is a beautiful clear, very pale gold in the glass - its bead fine but vigorous. On the nose you'll find pear, toast and butter notes. A sip reveals a soft bubbly mousse with Granny Smith apple, lemon and toast notes within its crisp fresh acidity. Malo, butterscotch and subtle stoney mineral on the finish - I suspect this would be sublime with a few oysters. In only its second year of release, Daosa Natural Reserve NV been included in James Halliday's Top Rated Sparkling Wines of 2020, one of only 16 wines (3 of which were red), with an impressive score of 96 points
This exquisite wine exudes style and finesse. Refreshing citrus notes with an irresistible aroma of a pâtisserie. Tantalizing lime and chamomile with precise acidity that dances on the palate. Fine persistent mousse will capture and engage your senses

Floral aromas, rounded out by fresh fruit and hints of buttery brioche and vanilla. Crisp and light, it combines freshness with a lingeringly rich and generous finish
Pol Roger Brut Réserve diplays a beautiful golden straw coloured hue, as well as abundant and fine bubbles. With a powerful and attractive nose, it first delivers aromas of fruit (pear, mango ...) and then releases light flavours of honeysuckle and white jasmine, lingering on vanilla and brioche notes. Behind a frank and dynamic attack, the wine encompasses a nice harmony and a pleasant freshness, whilst preserving some structure. On the palate, flavours of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) happily mingle with fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. The long-lasting aromas, composed of both fruity (candied orange peel, tangerine...) and spicy notes (cardamom, anis) is outstanding
This Champagne Rose represents the joint efforts of Thienot Chef de Cave Nicolas Uriel and Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago, who share mutual style and quality ambitions. A premier wine technology company that allows us to pour and enjoy any wine by the glass without pulling the cork
Here's an initial shyness on the nose, not surprising given the history of Grosset Polish Hill; and more restrained than some recent releases. This initial restraint gives way to a slowly evolving, yet increasingly intense, pure lime perfume. The palate is tight yet features amazingly intense lime pith and lime juice flavours while the impressive weight and steely backbone are characteristic of the style. It finishes crisp, clean and mouthpuckering: the length is staggering

95 Points - James Halliday, 93 Points – David Sly – Decanter Bin 311 Chardonnay truly reflects the winemakers mantra of going where the fruit grows best and where is best suits style. Tasmania, Piccadilly and Henty blend exhibits lemon/lime aromas and a mineral acid backbone, complemented by barrel fermentation and maturation in mostly seasoned oak. Minimal filtration is employed, preserving elegant fruit flavours
A wine that really shows the ability of the winemaker of taking something good and making it better. A rich and complex wine, with aromas of ripe apple, butterscotch, and lemon curd. The barrel fermentation added complex aromas of soft vanilla and baking spices. The palate is full and the partial malolactic fermentation creates a lovely creaminess, while preserving enough acidity to keep it fresh and vibrant
The wine lifts a remarkable perfume of fresh red berries, pressed flowers, nectarine skin and the trademark Nebbiolo whiff of star-anise. In the mouth it's a refreshing hit of white stone fruit flesh culminating in a zippy citrus-juice finish that cleanses the palate and sets it up for another sip

Friendly red fruit on an open nose. Supple and silky onthe palate with the cool scent of wind blowing through garrigue. Really juicy and so incredibly easy to drink, but there is an underlying seriousness. You could underestimate this wine. Lovely savoury spices-and-herbs undertow and finely judged balance of sweetness, ripeness and acidity. Superb finish – long and almost burgundian in its fragrance
A blend of Shiraz from Wally's Block and Staker's vineyards, the ripe red berry and plum like fruits that we know Shiraz delivers is combined with flavours of mocha and spice from the 18 months of barrel maturation. A wine with remarkable complexity that shows a fresh bouquet of cherry, raspberry, and roses, followed by more earthy aromas of mushroom, leather and cedar. The body is complex with bright acidity, elegant fine-grained tannins, and a long, rich finish. Poured from Magnums to express a slower yet better integration between the flavour profile and the structural elements of the wine
Soft and velvety, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot leases intense notes of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, spice and leather. It shows plush layers of dark fruit and tangy tobacco that builds the palate's momentum
Deep, garnet red. Blackcurrant, Doris plum and the complexity of butter sauteed chanterelle mushrooms round out an exceptionally lifted palate defined by the sheer concentration of ripe fruit flavours. Sweet plum, redcurrant and blackberry are interwoven with cinnamon and mocha notes. The tannins offer a savoury counterpoint to the sweetness of fruit and the traditional hallmark of being powder fine in texture

This is followed with more luscious black fruits on the palate, together with cedar and alluring cassia bark overtones. The tannins are fine and soft, lending synergy between fruit and French oak together with structure that delineates and defines the palate. This wine will have you second guessing as it skips between red fruits and lifted spice notes on the one hand to more brooding, dark, ashen, earthy aromas on the other. A sign of the vintage no doubt. The seasonal conditions are even more evident on the palate where flavour, tannin and acid are in perfect balance. There is an impressive amount of concentration

96 Points – James Halliday Instantly fresh and fleshy. Some overt single-varietal cabernet and shiraz fruits still sit separate …time will unite. Expected liquorice, stewed plum and blackcurrant, with dark chocolate and mocha in the background. Savoury and salivating – mouthwatering, succulent acidity. This acidity interplays with integrated tannins – coating the mouth and adding length.. Yes, impressive length, with concentration, and a mandatory Bin 389 'sweet' core; oak completely absorbed. Polished and refined

At release, during this primary fruit stage – berried ice-cream and black forest cake fruits unfold – redcurrant and blackberry. Powdery tannins – silky and glossy – offer textbook velvet/cashmere texture. So smooth! Dense, verging on unctuous, without any reliance or concession to alcohol or oak. Wonderful length, depth, balance
Gold Medal – Berliner Wein Trophy 2020, Germany; Silver Medal – AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge 2020, Austria; Silver Medal – Australian & NZ Boutique Wine Show 2020; This deliciously delicate late-harvest wine gets its name from the Austrian word 'Gruner' which means 'green'. The grapes for this wine are allowed a very extended period of ripening, during which the berries shrivel and thereby concentrate the flavour, the sugar and the natural acidity. Since the climatic condition ight, honeyed sweetness with loads of orange marmalade and bright citrus. Quite honeyed orange finish. Clean, pure fruit, but perhaps a bit too honeyed at times. Not very complex, but pure and yummy

97 Points, 2022 Halliday Wine Companion – Tyson Stelzer; renache/shiraz/mourvèdre; matured 21 years in old oak hogsheads; fortified with brandy spirit. The legendary fortified outfit of Seppeltsfield achieves epic levels of complexity even in single-vintage blends. All the profound power, detail and impeccable balance we've come to expect, but what truly sets off the millennium vintage is line and length that hover unwavering for more than 60 seconds. Absolutely splendid
98 Points, Wine Advocate Magazine; Complex aromas of chocolate, prune, caramel & walnuts, while maintaining impeccable balance
Raisins and rose petal aromas combine with luscious palate consistent with the fruit aromas and the hint of wood age. The result is a rich, well-balanced wine with depth of flavour to enjoy with cheese dishes or chocolate-based desserts
The term Super Tuscan was coined in the early 1980s to describe a red blend from Tuscany. What makes "super Tuscan" wine different from other Tuscan wines (like Chianti) is the use of wine grapes that are not indigenous to Italy, particularly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The creation of super Tuscan wines resulted from the frustration winemakers had towards a slow bureaucracy in changing Italy's wine law during the 1970s. Winemakers began mixing 'unsanctioned' wine varieties (like Merlot) into their blends to make high-quality wines. Super Tuscans dominated the market in the 1980s and still remain a powerful force in the highest echelons of the wine world today
