Shaiel was an outstanding waitress. She made our experience excellent and the treatment was really very close and we loved it. Next time we will request her to be with us!

We had a disappointing experience during our visit. After being seated, it took quite a while before anyone came to take our drink orders—and once they were placed, it was another 10 to 15 minutes before we received them. We were ready to order our food, but our server said she’d need to return later. While occasional delays are understandable, communication was especially difficult as our waitress had a very strong accent that made it challenging to understand one another. Once we did place our order, we waited approximately an hour and a half for our food. At one point, someone who appeared to be a manager told us the meals were being plated—yet it was still another 20 minutes before they arrived. We were a party of four and only ordered sushi and a salad. Strangely, my salad didn’t arrive until the entrées did. When we realized we hadn’t been given silverware and requested some, our server disappeared for another ten minutes—then returned to inform us that there were no forks available. The restaurant was not crowded, and there was no wait to be seated, so it’s unclear why things were so disorganized. I even had to ask the hostess twice to locate our server during the course of the evening. Unfortunately, the entire experience put a damper on our night. Our bill exceeded $200, and perhaps the most frustrating part was that neither the management nor the staff showed any concern or urgency about the situation

We had an amazing experience at Waraji last night! Our server Kevin took great care of us and it was by far the best time I’ve had at this establishment! I highly recommend Kevin as your server and ordering an “I don’t know” roll where the chef surprises you! It was phenomenal!

Of course one would wish it’s not in a strip mall- but they’ve done everything they can to mitigate that. Food was great. Our server was very nice and genuine. Prices were a bit higher than hoped for the price point and portion size - specifically looking at you tuna tataki. Overall would visit again.

We were celebrating a family member's birthday and had ordered a wide variety of sashimi and several rolls along with a number of side dishes. My family has owned several Japanese restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area and the cuisine here rivals many of the high end Japanese restaurants there. Preparation, presentation, food quality and service were all top notch. This was the second time we have dined here and it will always be our go to place when visiting the Raleigh area.
