Waterman's Restaurant is a cozy seafood restaurant overlooking the Galveston Bay. The views from here are absolutely stunning, and the food just makes it even better. It has an extensive bar that offers up an array of possibilities, while the abundance of available seating outside offers up a great opportunity to have healthy conversation with friends and family.

Waterman's Restaurant has a terrific low key ambiance and has been serving seafood to patrons for years. Consider ordering the salmon, which is grilled to perfection and served over a bed of rice, as it comes highly recommended by many.     This is a restaurant that could be great, but it has a long way to go. We had a party of 9 and the server struggled to manage the table. Service was slow and stilted. The food was mediocre. It was not a busy evening so we were surprised by the subpar experience. One of the meals came out 15 minutes after everyone else was served. Not once did a manager come by to check on us.

    We went for Mother's Day and we were disappointed by service as well as the selection for the set menu. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu, pancakes. I would have liked to at least see a salad or have had the option to order off the regular menu, which we love. Service was also not as good as usual. We will still come back as we love Waterman's, but we just weren't as impressed as we usually are. On a positive note, my mother was happy with her shrimp dishes and that was the main point-celebrating her!

    Overall? We enjoy the experience. I was disappointed with the red snapper as it was extremely dry. We asked for a sauce to help and never received it. Service was slow but we did enjoy our waiter who was very clear on what was good.

    We found this hidden gem about a year ago. We visit Galveston about 2 times a year Becz it’s convenient and close. We love the food at Waterfront and the outdoor seating with our dog. Just a very fun place to be!

    Service was wonderful. Selected Waterman’s because of reviews saying sunset view was one of the best on Galveston, unfortunately at this time of year it was right over a large house so sunset was disappointing. They were out of oysters, gumbo and key lime pie on a Thursday night during spring break which was disappointing. The Ahi tuna appetizer was very good. The outdoor patio was lovely until dusk when the mosquitos came out so heavy we could not enjoy the end of our meal. Overall we would try again, just go earlier in the day and maybe call and ask what they are out of first lol.

    Sadly the food and service was not up to expectations per the dollar amount spent. We have usually had good experiences at Waterman’s but they fell well short this last outing.

    this is our second time we met friends here for dinner, and it was wonderful. we had an excellent time, and our server was perfect in every way. the food is great, especially the seafood. can’t wait to introduce more people to this beautiful quiet spot on the bay.
