   Very good food and service. Burgers were excellent, but fries were overdone. Limited beer and wine list, and some items they were out of. They didn’t even have a lager on tap, which was surprising. The whiskey cake and homemade whipped cream were outstanding!

   Based on reviews, we thought this would be much better but it was all kind of meh. We had the deviled eggs and meh. My old fashioned was good. The bathrooms smelled like sewage which may have left a gnarly taste in my mouth. Then came the entrees- my daughter’s kids meal was ok. Steak frites- ok. Rigatoni..yeah, the only thing I liked was the tomato and there were 2 so yay! Burger- meh. Salad and soup- meh. No one was really excited for anything they ate unfortunately. I don’t think we’d go back.

   There were plenty of seating for early seating. When we arrived around 5:30pm, it was sparsely populated. Our waitress was really great at selling the entrees and appetizers. We ordered brussel sprouts, duck wings, deviled eggs, chicken meatballs, and crab fritters. The brussel sprouts were definitely a trip back. The crab fitters lacked crab and flavor, there was way too much cream cheese. The bbq duck wings were ok, the deviled eggs were the size of quail eggs and the egg was overcooked, the chicken meatballs were flavored nicely. Everyone enjoyed their chicken, pork chop (my grandmother said it lacked seasoning) my steak frites was cooked perfectly, but came out warm at best. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but not a dining option for the future.

   I had the farmers breakfast and it was really good. The server was amazing and the drinks were delicious. It’s also beautiful inside

   It took over 45 minutes to get our cocktails. They offset the delay with the delicious Whiskey Cake which helped. One of the four meals was not made properly as requested but customers dealt with it and ate it as is. We will come back and try them again since they are still working out the kinks.

   Food wasn’t great. Server was very nice. The wrong food got brought out but quickly changed. Drink from the bar was amazing.

   Ordered drinks Ordered apps Ordered dinner Apps came to the table Food came to the table Drinks came. N Sad trying a flight of bourbon and not really able to experience the flavors of the bourbons with the food at the table. Needless to say we didn’t order a second round. The food was very good.

   Our first visit to Whiskey Cake was decent overall. Although the restaurant has been open for some time, the operation felt a bit clumsy. Our server was polite and friendly but had to return to the kitchen for clarification on both of our menu questions, which slowed things down. The happy hour menu is appealing, featuring $5 drafts, cocktails, and some tasty appetizers. We tried the charcuterie board and tater tots—both were excellent. Our server thoughtfully checked in with us right before happy hour ended to see if we wanted anything else. I ordered another beer, and we finished our meal. However, when the check arrived, I noticed the beers were charged at $10 each instead of the $5 happy hour price. When I asked the server about it, he explained that not all beers are included in the happy hour deal. That would have been helpful to know in advance. To their credit, the manager adjusted the price after the issue was raised. Overall, the entrées were good, the atmosphere was fun, and the menu pricing was reasonable. While it wasn't a flawless experience, we might give them another try—just not anytime soon.
