   Brandon was extremely welcoming and obviously knows his trade. We look forward to coming back and meeting his wife Lucy. Food and service were great, it was a quiet night, but that's sometimes a nice thing. We really hope they make a go of it because the area is starved of decent places to eat.

   My wife and I dined at The White Lion yesterday and very much enjoyed the meal there and felt very welcome by the staff. I seem to recall that under the previous management, prices on the menu were a bit high for our liking, but now they seem more reasonable and this time we certainly got value for our money !

   We ate from the lunch menu. The food was great value. The chips were the best I've had for ages. I have had an evening meal in the past month, which was also very tasty and good value. I would definitely recommend you give this restaurant a try.

   over all the meal was good the service was also good. the only down side the white wine was warm. was offered ice but prefer wine ice cold not with ice watering it down.

   Hello there Steve, As the new management we are only just unlocking access to all of our platforms online and we are thrilled to see so many good reviews from after our takeover such as this one from yourself. As for the wine, one of our bar fridges seemed to be in need of maintenance on that day. After you notified us the quality did not meet expectations we moved all of the bottles to a different (cooler) fridge and supplied your table with ice. Of course the temperature was not rectified for the duration of your visit as it was still cooling in the separate fridge (though the fridge was fixed later that day), and for that we can only apologise. We'd love to see you again however, you were a pleasure to have and are always welcome back in our doors. We wish you all the best, Brandon

   We went for the festive menu at the white lion. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was very tasty and good value for money. TWe shall be returning again.

   Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. Taste absolutely disgusting, kind it had been over a hot counter for a long time. No seasoning, dry chicken & overall it really was vile. I will never return. I’m so disappointed with them. They need to up their game, they are getting a really bad reputation.

    We had a booking for 5:15 on a Sunday. When we arrived we were refused service because they ‘don’t take bookings at that time’ we took it on the chin and ordered a drink ready to go somewhere else. While we were waiting for our drinks another couple walked in with the same booking time and were seated no problems. We then queried this and the bar staff went back to the chef to ask if we could be seated. This took another 10 minutes before being told we could eat but there would be a long wait time and restrictions on what we could order. We didn’t eat here as we were appalled by the service. The live music in the garden was so loud you couldn’t hear anyone talk inside the restaurant. Would not recommend going here.
