We are frequent customers, but this time because it was Valentine's Day, the prices were raised too much and they even automatically added a 20% tip. I was very disappointed. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Food is decent and drinks are good but the steak was cold and the oysters are not good. Never going back.

Went on Valentine’s Day, and the experience was absolutely terrible. Our expectations are lower on Valentine’s Day, but the restaurant was not that crowded and what we experienced was unacceptable. They brought out our appetizer, and then we had to wait an hour for our food to come out. The table beside us who arrived after us recieved their main and dessert much before us. When they brought us our steak we asked about the pasta we ordered and it seems they forgot to bring it to us. We told them not to bother bringing it because we were not going to eat pasta after having steak. The steak was very cold (probably sat there for a while) and it was cooked rare instead of medium rare, so they took it back to finish on the grill, but it was not good after being put back in the grill once it cooled down so much. The waiter was apologetic and offered free dessert which was nice of him. The worst part was that they made us pay a deposit of $100 for our table weeks in advance. I confirmed on the phone that we would get refunded the deposit if we paid with gift cards and the amount of our bill was lower and didn’t cover the whole deposit. We had $300 worth of gift cards and our bill with tip was $326 - they refused to give us back the remainder of the deposit claiming it was their policy to not refund deposits. It did not matter that we were told differently over the phone, and it didn’t matter that the service was already terrible and our experience was ruined. If they went against their “policy” it would have at least made the night a little better for us because it would show they actually cared about their customers. Now we are stuck with a gift card to an over priced restaurant that clearly doesn’t care about customer service or quality of food.

Went for Valentine’s day, they increased menu prices almost 30% from the regular menu. Food was good but no caution of a set menu or price increase. Octopus went from $30 to $40 just as an example. NY strip went from $87 to $110. Completely unreasonable. Forced gratuity also not necessary. I understand they can charge whatever prices they want but no notice is uncalled for. Gouging. Service was good, good ambiance but don’t like being blindsided by a 25% increase.

The steak wasn’t cooked the way I asked for. I had to ask for more salt. This was my second time here. The first time it was amazing. Unfortunately, this time is was meh. We spent close to $1000.00 pretty disappointing tonight.

Second time there for hubby’s bday. Service and food were exceptional. We savoured every bite. Calamari, bone in rib eye, broccolini, truffle fries,a surprise tiramisu and lava cake. Chefs kiss! Also enjoyed the cappuccino mugs

Excellent service, excellent food. My only suggestion would be to have the dj (Friday nights) should probably set up his equipment before dinner service so patrons aren’t interrupted by the sounds through the speakers of wires being plugged in and volume and mixing levels. Otherwise a great experience. “Lee-Anne” is is an extremely valuable asset to XXI and helped me make our little night feel special. Huge thank you to her!!!! Word of warning! Portions are quite large!!!! (Not a bad thing) Mike

XXI Chophouse in Kleinburg provided us with a lovely experience. The restaurant decor befits The Doctor's House and Kleinburg vibe. There was a DJ who played an enjoyable, upbeat set list, although we would have preferred it not be as loud. The food was beautifully prepared, made with fresh ingredients and served hot. The portions were generous. Our only complaint was the prices. While there's no inexpensive restaurant experience these days, for what we ate, the food was overpriced. We had only 2 glasses of wine and a beer at our table, and even with the current GST tax hiatus we still spent $800+ for four people. Shocking.

The service was very slow and the waitress did not make it clear that the lava cake would take for so long to be cooked (over 30 mins) and they were extremely rude to us when we asked when the dessert would come out

The kitchen was so substantially delayed it took us 3 hours to get our entries only for them to be sloppily plated, clearly displaying the rushed preparations. The salad was virtually undressed and the truffle fries were essentially raw. Extremely dissatisfied with the kitchen. The service however was fantastic and the server went out of her way to apologize and compensate for the kitchen delay.
