Rails Steakhouse is a modern American steakhouse offering carefully selected USDA Prime and CAB corn-fed beef, dry-aged a minimum of 28 days on-premise & hand-cut daily. We offer modern and contemporary dishes, including sustainable fresh seafood, homemade desserts, and an award-winning wine list recognized by Wine Spectator.

Attention to detail can be seen in this beautiful 20,000 sq. ft., restaurant where sprawling timber meets natural stonewalls, accents of glass showcase fire-and-water features in this luxe lodge. While all levels feature the same menu, the main dining room has a more sophisticated ambiance and Rafters on the second floor has a more casual lodge appeal. Descend to the lower level to find the secret passage that takes you to the wine cave, and Thirty 3, a speakeasy-style bar and lounge. Dine al fresco on our outdoor terraces offering spectacular views of the Pyramid Mountains. Most importantly, we want you to feel at home where our hospitality is second to none.

Rails offers several private and intimate spaces, the Library and Mosaic room which feature sweeping views of downtown Towaco and are perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and showers and for holding smaller business meetings. For larger events such as cocktail and engagement parties consider the Rails main dining room or Rafters Lounge, with its striking catwalk and expansive, curved bar. In warmer months, the outdoor Vista Terrace is a wonderful location for a reception or a cocktail hour, offering front-row views of the gorgeous surrounding scenery. All of our private dining options feature Rails signature, eco-friendly blend of natural elements and luxurious interior design, and all have widescreen televisions available for presentations.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of fine food and whiskey, as we taste the LeGrand Kentucky Bourbon on March 19th at 7:00 pm in the Wine Cave. A Kentucky Straight Bourbon inspired by the journey of former Rutgers University football star Eric LeGrand after his spinal cord injury in 2010. Crafted with precision and patience, this bourbon resonates with Eric's belief in celebrating personal victories and trusting the process. In October 2010, Rutgers University football star Eric LeGrand sustained a spinal cord injury at his C3 and C4 vertebrae during a fourth-quarter play at MetLife Stadium. While the initial prognosis was grim, Eric demonstrated his titan strength by shattering all expectations for his recovery and rehabilitation. Eric’s tireless spirit and appreciation of whiskey led him to found Eric LeGrand Whiskey. As Eric learned more about the journey of a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, he found that the precision when creating the mash bill, the patience required during the barrel aging process, and the trust in the overall process paralleled the precision, patience, and confidence needed in his grueling recovery. 5 expressions of LeGrand bourbons, expertly paired with 5 courses created by Executive Chef Frank Falivene. Amazing flavor on every dish, unmatched steaks as always (not cheap but good value), it's a bit too loud at times.

As always, the food was extraordinary and so were the cocktails. The staff was very attentive and food came fast. Great presentation and wonderful atmosphere.

Rails delivered another memorable meal for our Valentines Night. Service was attentive, the ambience was nice, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend for a great dinner!

Lovely experience and a must do in Northern Jersey. Food was incredible - the steak was cooked to perfection and was an incredible cut of meat. The sides all paired well and their wine menu is fabulous. We truly felt like we escaped to another world here. The ambiance is everything you would expect and more!

I had heard about Rails from numerous people who have always raved about it. So, I was very excited in anticipation. The restaurant is beautiful right alongside the Towaco Railroad Station. Plenty of help valet parking but a bit of a walk to get inside. The ambiance is nice with an extensive top notch wine list. But our waitress was not as knowledgeable about the menus that might have been a good opportunity for an upsell for our order. And it was kind of hard to get over that my guest’s lobster tail arrived raw. In sending it back when I asked the waitress about it she said oh! I didn’t talk to them, they’re very busy with it being the holiday. . . Not a very good first impression. Not even an apology. I would go back though. And I understand you can take a tour and go through the secret door to the bar in the cellar. The menu is a la carte which make it seem expensive, but the prices are actually quite reasonable.

I use to love this place but unfortunately on a Wednesday before Valentines perhaps drove our dissatisfaction. Cold Steak, slow service with little followup, and they sat us in a large private room instead of the main dining room (which that wasn’t a big deal). But cold steak not cooked to order - I’m not sure what happened.
