John Ls’ Wine Cellar is not only well stocked with vintages to complement any meal in the Ranch House Restaurant and Saloon, it’s also an intimate and elegant private dining room with a bit of history built right in. In the room, the beautiful cherry wine racks and beams were crafted from 150-year-old cherry trees harvested on the owner’s family land in Adirondack Park in New York. Known hereabouts as John Ls’ Wine Cellar, it’s named in memory of two family members. To get to the wine cellar dining room, you have to pass through the Barrel, a hand-crafted wine uncorking room (for up to 16 people), where you can socialize before your dinner in the Cellar.

Wow, so glad we changed our mind at the last minute because of wind down Wednesday at the ranch house. We usually eat late but made a 645 reservation, thank goodness. We were able to get there in the daylight and it was unbelievably stunning! the ambience was perfect ranch house. The food was amazing. The wine was wonderful. We did go over the hundred dollars but at that point all bottles are $50 off instead of half off. Highly recommend.

There must be new management this year at Devil's Thumb. It was still good, and the ambiance is really special, but everything was so over-priced. A Flank steak--$85.00 and then they tell you if you want sauce or butter that will be extra! The menu hasn't changed since last year--where's the creativity? And the lovely lady usually at the front door was gone. Instead the staff was--I guess you would say "formal". Maybe the super rich like the straight faces and formalities, but I miss the Colorado Ranch smiles and the laughter. I doubt the staff is ever allowed to laugh with the guests anymore. It's stuffy, I guess you would say. And $150 for a great steak or $85 for a flank steak and your butter costs extra is taking the gouge a bit too far!

Great dinner but unconscionably expensive- $360 for 2x cocktails, 2xsteaks, 2x glass of wine and 2x sides was took away from the delicious food

Absolutely incredible food and views. Easily the best steaks we've ever had...not even close. Price seemed a bit high for a small steak, but it was more than enough food and left nothing to be desired...you definitely get what you pay for here and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Don't hesitate to come here!

The Short Rib French Onion Soup was INCREDIBLE. The dessert they gave us for our Anniversary was delicious! Problem was that the main entrees were extremely salty - so much that we couldn't eat our entrees. Not worth the hype.
