We were in from out of town and found we needed a restaurant on Mother's Day,lthe worst day of the year to eat out. I chose Redstone based on the website, which looked inviting. We had a fantastic dinner with Omar's best service, which was a real pleasure. What a nice surprise! The food was wonderful and plenty of it. Most service staff really don't want to be working on Mother's day, but that did not seem to be the case with our server or anyone else on his team. And it was very apparent that the staff worked as a team. Thanks for a delightful Mother's Day.

Mother’s Day Brunch was a disappointment. Mostly breakfast foods, a few luncheon items. Beef looked like ham they were cutting. Not very appetizing to look at. Desert table was skimpy and what they did have weren’t very good. I’m not a fussy diner but felt bad my son had spent over $225 for 3 of us and no one really enjoyed the meal. Maybe buffets aren’t their thing!

There were highs and lows of the dinner. The front of house staff and floor manager were terrific. Having not been before and going with 2 small children, I requested a high chair and a booster seat. 2 of each were at the table with one high chair set up for the younger child. The menus were already laid out with crayons on top of the kids menus. Lovely touch and we started strong! Early dinner so things were quiet when we arrived and our waitress was quick to introduce herself and get drinks. She came back quickly again to ask for our food order but we still needed time to review. Drinks - mule and mocktail lemonade. Both great. Entrees were the filet, cajun ribeye, and parm crusted haddock. The haddock was best with a terrific sauce. The cajun ribeye was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. I needed to add salt at baseline but didn't detect cajun or other seasoning. Root veggies as a side were excellent. Truffle fries ($1 more on the menu when ordered a la carte) were an unexpected $1.95 upcharge, okay but not worth it. The filet was initially a little under cooked but delivered by the manger who asked it be cut open to confirm doneness. It looked okay at first but the second cut proved it was under. Couldn't see our waitress but got up to speak to the manager. He took the steak and had it heated. It came back WAY over, admittedly well-done when the manager check it and a new steak was requested and politely (really nicely) provided. The root veggies were enjoyed while the potatoes got too cold to enjoy once the steak came back. The manager said the chef made it and he cut the steak. It was medium upon cut in the middle. The first cut on the side was well and within moments the medium center turned gray. Overall the most expensive items were a miss. Dessert was lovely, though know the serving sizes are huge! We ordered 3, ate half of 2 and took the 3rd home. Cookie was a little tough, banana cream pie was yummy, ice cream and whipped cream were lovely.

We had a great server named Mercedes R! We had the Buffalo shrimp which never disappoints. Also enjoyed the Caesar salad with rotisserie chicken.

We went to Redstone because they had prime rib on the menu...not that many restaurants have it anymore..at keast that are close by. The prime rib was very good but seemed smaller than the 14oz size advertised in the menu. The au jus was excellent...it was more like a broth instead of oversalted onion soup that most places have. The roasted vegetables were awesome and the caesar salad was good also. The chicken sliders were ok but nothing special. We did not like the lodge corn bread with maple butter, however. It was passable, and the size was very generous, but it fell apart too easily and had ...peppers? in it. The mashed potatoes were kind of tasteless but the fries were good. The booth seats were comfy. My friend had a tropical tasting Tito's Lemonade drink that was good.
