Opheem
Price: Very Expensive•Indian•4.9(1,454)When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.Indian Cafe Racer

Price: Expensive•Italian•4.7(1,290)Fine Italian food in the very centre of Birmingham is Cucina Rustica's trademark, a comfortable, atmospheric Italian restaurant popular with both locals and tourists visiting this vibrant city. Although modern and slick in its execution, the choice of deep earthy colours and moody lighting, tactile materials such as wood and stone and the addition of characterful contemporary art and healthy, verdant plants give Cucina Rustica that slight traditional feel suggested by its name and a certain cosiness that gives it a home from home feel. Attention to detail is in every little touch here at Cucina Rustica, from the single rose placed on each table to the complementary olives produced on every guest's arrival. Equally, food is produced with great care, dishes traditionally Italian but done with flair and a certain amount of style, some unusual choices offered alongside classic favourites, all from the classic Italian cookbook and accompanied by a wide array of drinks.

Madeleine follows the tradition of grand hotels with luxurious cocktail bars: its double-height windows, sparkling chandeliers, and rich soft furnishings make it at once super-glamorous and utterly enticing.

- YYasminBirmingham/West Midlands (county) •1 review4.0Dined 2 days agoThe restaurant looks very nice and the menu is good, however it was extremely busy. Luckily we had a booking. We had to wait 50 minutes for our meal and were very hungry by the time it arrived. The staff were friendly but not very attentive. I would recommended going at a quieter time. Overall we did still have a nice time, but could’ve been better.More infoMedicine Bakery - New StreetPrice: Moderate• Breakfast• Birmingham•4.1
- DDANIELLECheshire •5 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoWe are regulars at the Ivy Temple Row. On this occasion Sat lunch, it was particularly noisy. The hard floors add to the resonance. Unlike the Brighton Asian Ivy, there are no partitions or zones that absorb the noise. We would not go if there was a party of 2 or more due to being unable to hear each other across the table. Incidentally, the diners at both tables beside us agreed and recommended other quieter restaurants. I would certainly avoid Sat evening. Pity as we love the decor, location and serviceMore infoThe Ivy Temple RowPrice: Expensive• Contemporary British• Birmingham•4.5
- KKimLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoA lovely ladies luncheon made very special by such a fabulous venue. Excellent food and service. The views were to die for even on a grey and overcast day. There was no pressure to hurry our meal and we lingered for a few hours. I will definitely return at night to experience the ambience of dining overlooking the city!More infoOrelle BirminghamPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Birmingham•4.5
