Last night, my best friend and I had the pleasure of dining at Komo, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious—each dish was crafted with evident care and creativity. Our evening was elevated further by our server, Willy, who impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the menu, warm demeanor, and truly outstanding customer service. He thoughtfully recommended we explore the speakeasy and lounge upstairs, which turned out to be a delightful continuation of our night. We also had the pleasure of meeting Zoey, whose vibrant energy and engaging personality kept the rest of our evening lively and entertaining. Overall, the ambiance, service, and culinary experience at Komo were all impeccable. My best friend and I had a fantastic time, and I’m already looking forward to returning next weekend. Thank you for a memorable evening!

The whole experience was lackluster and disappointing. From being seated to finish. Pre-paid for the tasting menu and was sat. Took 15 minutes to get greeted by anyone at our table. Soon after was called by Komo staff asking if I was going to show for my reservation (as I am currently seated in their restaurant). Staff forgetting to bring silverware, spilling water, continued miscommunication. The icing on the cake was that the server raved how the chef will come see us and discuss one of the dishes… chef never came and it was never brought up again. Also, the most obnoxious drunk group of 6 were at the bar that made the bar 2x louder. The only saving grace is that the food was good. Overall disappointing and was hoping for so much more.

My initial impression of Komo was quite nice, a complimentary glass of sake upon entering a beautifully decorated restaurant set a wonderful scene. The chopsticks were plastic and warped. And we waited over 20 minutes for a fresh fork. we started with a bottle of Champagne, which was delicious, however bottle service was subpar. A fault in training. We opted to order the Pre-Fixe style menu which was 8 courses and seemed decently interesting. Course 1 was a soup that was almost too much. The flavors were good but my plate was chipped to an egregious degree. The shrimp was small and the plating only made it seem more insignificant. There was some shell leftover which wasn’t cleaned properly. Course two was a salad of cucumbers, sashimi, and some other ingredients. The delicate flavors of the fish were unable to shine and it just became another piece of unflavored texture in a ‘salad’ that was overwhelmed by sesame, to the point that it lingered on my palate for minutes after consuming it. Course 3, the Chawanmushi was a dish that seemed extra, the egg custard itself was great, but the uni added nothing to the dish, and frankly the uniqueness of the ingredient seems wasted, to the point where I couldn’t even taste it. The wagyu was good, the zucchini served with it was not, the flavors were there but even the slightest bit of salt on it would’ve saved the vegetable. I almost laughed when the fois gras hit the table. The idea of playing on sweet with the umami richness of the fois gras was not bad, the execution was nothing short of a circus act. Using mymochi ice cream was certainly unique, but an insult to the duck that died so that I could enjoy its liver. I got through all of this and still had some hope for the nigiri. The presentation was great. But the rice was over seasoned, I don’t know whether they’re using mirin or rice wine vinegar, but that was all that I could taste. The delicate flavors of the fish were ruined. Dessert was fine. Embarrassing. Overpriced

Food is decent. Very small portions though and overpriced. Even the entrees are small. We left hungry and got food elsewhere, after spending $250 there (2 of us)

Went during my friend’s bachelorette party which also landed during Restaurant week and WOW!!! The food was not only INCREDIBLE but the service we received was out of this world. Huge shout out to Zoe for making our experience one to remember. Will definitely be going back.

It is a beautiful and inviting place in a convenient location in West Loop. We were welcomed with a shot of Sake, which was a very nice touch. However, the lighting is too dim, making it difficult to read the menu. While the food was good, both the service and the food did not match the prices. I found this restaurant overpriced.
