   I had such high hopes for this restaurant and as a Valentine’s Day special event. Unfortunately it was not a good experience all around. We arrived in time for our reservation at 730pm and told it would be another 15-20 min as they were backed up. It happens- no problem. In reality, it was overbooked. We were seated to a prix fixe menu, which we had been informed about in advance. No problem again. The selections they made to build the prix fixe from their well received general menu seemed odd, but they know best. In placing our order we were informed that all of our choices had “just sold out”. It was not late in the dinner service, so preparations for the evening did not seem to be adequately performed. Food arrival was disjointed. Our server either seemed not to care, was calmly detached or called in last minute and not invested in the experience of his customers. The food runners and floor managers were clearly doing their best but just seemed woefully behind and unable to control the general chaos. The food was adequate but not up to the level advertised or reviewed. The meal was provided at a glacial pace. After an hour and 30 min we ended up asking for our dessert to go and the check. After an additional 20 minutes and staring at the boxed desserts at the kitchen counter for 10 of those, we were finally graced with the boxes and no check. We asked again and checked the desserts. One was not what was ordered. When we brought that to our server’s attention, his reply was- “yeah, I guess we ran out.” Thanks for letting us know in advance. We would try again, but we don’t have that luxury because we are visiting. This is the experience that will carry over.

   What a wonderful and enjoyable Valentine’s dinner at Naisla! We were seated immediately for our 6:00 reservation and greeted by the great staff. I love and appreciate how the restaurant operates…while everyone has their “role” the teamwork and camaraderie is a joy to observe! They are on their game 110%! The food is amazing and so fresh. We started with the arancini and crudo hamachi, had the refreshing local salad and lobster and garden pasta. Just divine! Our desserts (lava cake and raspberry cheesecake were spectacular. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant on the island. Feel blessed as locals to be able to return soon for another delicious dining experience!

   This was one of the best meals we had Kauai. I made a reservation for vday. Limited menu, which the texted me about beforehand. Everything we had was excellent. We had the tuna appetizer, amazing! Green salad and filet mignon. All were excellent. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. Brock was our server. I would highly recommend this place again. It is expensive, but worth the price.

   Food and service was perfect, as always. Valentines prix fixe dinner was great and the rose was a nice touch. The restaurant was crowded but service was still top notch!

   One of the top dining experiences on Kauai. The short rib and risotto was very good. A very generous helping of risotto and as tasty as I’ve had anywhere. Stephanie, our server was very good as was Casey the bartender. Definitely recommend and will be back.

   Surprisingly the best meal on Kauai the past two weeks. Don’t be fooled by the location or ambiance. The food and Brock’s service were great! We’ll definitely be back.

   I reserved our table with special instruction for our 50th wedding anniversary. Not a single word of acknowlegement from the hostess or waitress for our celebration. One of our appetizer was black cod lettuce wrap, 2 tiny pieces of lettuce with a crouton size of code which was very fishy. One of our entrees was their braised short rib with risotto. Probably it was a piece of chuck-roast instead of short-rib, and the risotto taste like porridge or congee. Disappointing indeed!
