Hakkō House is a family-run Japanese culinary service where trendy meets traditional; with beautifully crafted, delicious food, made with love, care, only the best local ingredients...and a twist!

We are big believers in the healing power of fermentation, and have used ancient Japanese methods to ensure that our food supports your microbiome.

Newly opening on 28th April, our restaurant is set in a converted shipping container nestled in to the beautiful woodlands, overlooking the lake at the wonderful Marston Park. We are a cosy restaurant with limited seating, so booking ahead is strongly advised. If you have any questions regarding accessibility, do let us know.

A beautiful and delicious selection of sushi and small cooked dishes - delicate flavours and textures, complemented by wakame salad and a fine and unusual sake. Followed by a most tasty ice cream sandwich with a miso caramel sauce. All under the shelter of late summer trees. Feel blessed to find this food so close to home and in the heart of Somerset.

High quality Japanese sushi with emphasis on sustainability and pickling & fermentation techniques. It’s beautifully presented, The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. The setting is magical. Not to be missed - they’re only open for the summer.
