   We would not return to this restaurant based on service alone. Food is very good. We dined early because of very early flight to DC. Emptied water glass sat empty for quite some time. After 3 requests, it was refilled. Prices posted online are lower than those on printed menu. By the glass wine list has also been trimmed significantly versus online version.

   This is our favorite DC restaurant! Chef Testa is always so nice to our family and the food and service are wonderful!! We come here every time we visit DC and it’s always great!

   Old school Italian restaurant in Georgetown, fairly close to the Kennedy Center. Plenty of photos with famous people and Vittorio on the wall at the entrance. Overall expensive for the amount and quality of food. The bread was not warm and did not seem made in-house. No oil or other condiments available on table. The wine was just OK for a $75 bottle, and our initial selection was not available. We started with a salad and primo piatto (pasta with lobster (linguine Vittorio) to share, which were fine but not great. Our secondi were also okay, but not great. I had the Vitello Zingara with sweet onions and peppers plus a few hot peppers. The veal was cooked well and the sauce was good. My daughter also had veal, but with prosciutto and cheese (bocconcino di vitello alla romana). This was under-seasoned and bland. Overall, we spent over $250 for one salad, one pasta, and 2 main courses and wine. I understand it's Georgetown, but yikes. They should, and could, do better.

   La Perla is some of the best Italian food in town and the ambience is replete with beautiful authentic Italian decor brought back by the owner like gorgeous chandeliers statues, etc. so it’s elegant but relaxed, dressy or casual so good for everyone. The best part is the Owner/Chef is there everyday overseeing every detail. He talks to every table to ensure satisfaction which is so rare these days. It’s one of my favorite places for decades now.

   The service was very slow. We never saw our servers until we looked around after being there for almost 30 minutes. The lasagna was dry, maybe because they don’t put any tomato sauce on it. The raviolis came with only 5 small ones on the plate. The tiramisu was the best thing that we had at dinner. The old fashioned I ordered was probably the worst one that I have ever had.

   Wonderful experience. The food was delicious and very fresh. The owner/chef visited with us and made sure everything was being taken care of for the ultimate experience. I would highly recommend.

   Wait times were quite bad. I am not sure if they were short staffed, but the time it took to receive service (water for the table, drink order, and food order) was noticeably lengthy. The food was solid, but took just about an hour to finally arrive. On top of that we never had our water refilled. Unlikely I'll return, which truly hurts to say given their positive reviews. Again, not sure if they were missing servers and kitchen staff.
