We dine here often. The food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly. I only have one complaint and that is the seating. The booths are so uncomfortable and are so low that it makes it hard to get in and out easily. Every time I make a reservation I request a table however the last two times we were still seated in a booth. When you have a large party (6 or more) and get seated in a booth you are up and down to let people in and out to use the restroom is is just not a relaxing meal.

The service here is phenomenal! The food was really good, just a little expensive. They don’t list prices on their website, which is always a little scary when you are driving 30-plus minutes to try something new. It’s definitely worth the trip though and I do plan to budget a little to come back during the summer!

We had a great experience. Food was really good and having live entertainment was a definite plus. Our server was fantastic and consistently checked on us to make sure we were ok.

Dave Kelly band was playing the night we were there. We had fun interacting with them. Food was good. Restaurant and bar were busy, but staff was on top of it. Would definitely go again.

I was not impressed! From the beginning I was annoyed…first time visitor and could not find the front door. No signage, lots of possible entrances. Walk in, it’s dark and dreary…I see a woman with their head lying on the bar. The host was upbeat. Took us to our seats, waitress will be right with you. Well what seemed like forever, the girl lying on the bar waltzes over. She’s my waitress! Let me get to the point. We had to move because there were so many flies and there were still flies. I got the cheese steak egg rolls. Yucko! Total concept ruined. They have cabbage in them…I was open to it thinking it might add a crunch. It was like a salad bag of coleslaw add mushrooms and some type of meat. Awful. The wings…I can’t accurately rate because I wanted to try all their sauces. They did let me get the wings naked and sauce on the side. That’s why I did give them a 3. I only got 5 wings. My friend ordered the chicken quesadillas and she said they were decent. I ordered a seasonal cocktail and our bill was $56 or so bucks. Waitress was nice but did not check in, and clearly could see there was piles of uneaten food. Didn’t ask how it was. I put our dirty dishes on the next table. I just thought the whole experience was poor!

I really like the River House both for the food and location as it is a great place to meet between Harrisburg and Lancaster. The food is always delicious. We had French Onion Soup, salads, and calamari because we were there for lunch. I have been there before for dinners and the only difference is that it is a sports bar so the noise level reflects that fact. I highly recommend River House for great food and friendly Staff.
