Situated on the iconic Chicago River with stunning views of downtown, River Roast is a lively social house and gathering place. The menu features contemporary American tavern fare with dramatic presentations of whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish and slow roasted beef; all carved table-side. The food is handcrafted, yet rustic, with many plates designed for sharing. The bar offers a large selection of local beer, craft cocktails, beer, and wine. With one of the best patios in Chicago, River Roast is a great place to enjoy dining outside on a hot summer afternoon or a crisp fall evening. River Roast Private Events offers six spaces, all with spectacular views, for parties from 10 to 1,000. Saturday and Sunday features our Brunch menu from 11:00AM-3PM. We are open Mon-Fri for lunch and daily for dinner.

We had the special of the day, the fish, and enjoyed it. It's in a great location right by the river. The server was nice but we didn't see him during most of the meal. Also, I'm used to getting bread or rolls at a restaurant but they didn't serve them. I saw they had a non-alcoholic old fashioned and tried it since it was during the lunch hour and they should only stick with the real one. Despite this, it was still a good experience and would go back.

This is our second time at River Roast for a family celebration and we had a great time. Service was great our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. My husband has a food allergy and our server went the extra mile in making sure he was not exposed including having the bar make him a special cocktail. Food and drinks were delicious and everyone had something different which speaks to the versatility of the menu.

The service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The branzino is delicious. If you are there at lunch/dinner time I will say the menu is very very small

We had a wonderful dining experience. Javier took care of us for our birthdays. He was attentive and very enjoyable to be around. The recommendations were good and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back when visiting Chicago.

The food was fantastic! We had meatballs and arugula salad to start, pork Stitzel, bamboo salmon, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, roasted carrots. Everything was delicious.
