We went for Mother’s Day dinner. We were seated promptly but we waited 35 minutes for our dinner. My son ordered the mac and cheese and it arrived cold. We decided not to send it back because it took so long to get our food in the first place and he was hungry. My jumbo shrimp with shoyu udon noodles was so salty that it made my tongue feel like it was burning. My husband was the lucky one because he was the only one without any issues with his dinner (filet mignon). While eating our meal, the waitress asked if we wanted a chocolate soufflé (takes time to bake so they needed to know ahead of time) but we declined and were never offered any other dessert choices. Instead of inquiring about other dessert items after we were finished with dinner, we decided to end this experience, pay the bill and leave. We will never go back.

We were very disappointed by our experience at Roy’s today. The food was very good but it was ruined by the extremely poor service and poor response. It took 25 minutes to get our appetizer after ordering. It took another 30 minutes together our entrees. After asking our server, the manager came over and apologized. He offered no offer of complementary desert or discount for our diner which would occur for $140 dinner at most fine dining restaurants. The restaurant doesn’t even offer complementary parking next door for service over 60 minutes. When departing the restaurant the manager brushed us off. There is a strong need for a reset for customer relations retraining . Otherwise they will find no diner repeating the poor experience we faced.

If not for the manager paying for our meal this would have been a horrible experience. Granted it was Mother's Day but they had some sort of staffing issue they were unable to overcome. We had reservations and were sat almost 40 minutes late. Once we were sat and ordered food we sat another hour without anything. Two nearby tables got up and left. After nearly two hours we were finally served but the overall experience was not good.

I just returned home from a disappointing Mother’s Day brunch at Roy’s. We used to go to the Aloha Hour pretty often at the Newport Beach location and it was always delicious. We hadn’t been since that location closed, so we decided to try the Anaheim Location today. We had heard great things, so it may have just been an off day. Three of us ordered the Crab Cake Benedict for brunch. Though we sat down at about 12:40, we didn’t receive our food until after 2:00. When it arrived, all of the eggs were completely raw on all three plates. We flagged down a waitress. She took our plates and then the manager came out and told us that the eggs were cooked with a sous vide technique and that is just how they look. My mom and husband decided to keep their plates. My husband ate all of his plate, my mom ate around the eggs and didn’t eat much. I tried it and immediately sent it back. The egg whites were translucent and gelatinous. And the yolks were completely raw. I ordered the omelette instead and it was much better. We heard that other customers were also complaining about the eggs. None of us are feeling great right now, so I’m hoping none of us get sick. The drinks were pretty good but very small and expensive. I was really hopeful, but I don’t think we will return. We went to Huckleberry’s the last time that we were at the Anaheim Garden Walk and had a much better experience overall. I’ll go there next time.

The single worst experience we have EVER had at this restaurant. 1 hour and 45 minutes with mo entrees, no explanation from the manager, and no items taken off our bill when we finally left. So disappointed.

We booked here for Mother's Day because they were running a promotion for all mothers to get a gift card. My kids brought a floral arrangement for me, so I'm clearly a mom, but we never got the gift card. The food was excellent, as always.

Appetizers were very good, food really tasty but main entree though having a very nice presentation, portion was very small for the butterfish/braised beef combo, would not order again.

This is the third Roy's I've tried. Came here with the family for Mother's Day brunch. Y'know, for a fancy looking place, the food was pedestrian and dated. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just not great and I feel that it's quite overpriced for what they're serving. I feel real dumb for coming back and expecting a different outcome. Even the one in Maui was not great. I really would prefer to just get a regular plate lunch at my local Hawaiian restaurant. The service was alright, but we could never find our waiter when we needed him. We got there when they opened, and the first thing the waiter said is they're out of scallops and two other dishes. We just got here, we were the first customers, and you're already out of something? Not a great start especially since I was eyeing the scallops, too. My mimosa was warm so that was not enjoyable, although my wife's martini was quite good. The ambiance was fine and the noise level was alright considering there were a lot of people around. But overall it's just OK. I really want to like them, but I think this is the last time for us making reservations at any Roys.
