Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith.

Our menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though working at Michelin-starred restaurants across the country.

From Don: You may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, & popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because she makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too. These things are all my favorites.

The LaChona brand was born out of a love for sharing incredible wine with close friends and family. A beautiful experience in the neighborhood. We have been 2x in the last month. It has been a great spot to meet up with a girlfriend, do the wine tasting flights, share their tasty, perfectly dressed salad and split a few empanadas. Wines are a 10! Empanadas are fun to try all the different options and are perfectly paired with their wine selection. 100% recommend this spot for a date night with a friend!

Theres’s a surprising depth of Burmese food in NYC. After having it in abundance in San Francisco I was pleasantly surprised to find a high quality Burmese restaurant in a Portland suburb on a random trip so I booked a team dinner here. The food was better the second time and I plan on coming back any time I’m in the area.

This cozy little teahouse is, for me, exactly how a teahouse should feel. Small, warm, and filled with atmosphere and the smell of freshly brewed tea. We made reservations ahead of time, and I'm glad we did. It got busy quickly. We were served tea fairly quickly, and the tea was of good quality. Fairly full leaves, good color of the brew, and strong aroma. We paired our various selections of black and oolong tea with the salmon tower and the garlic noodles, both of which had good flavor. We stayed for a while, had a second brewing of our leaves, and chatted in the small space until we were contented. I will be back!

I made a reservation for lunch @ 12:30 on a Friday. We were greeted promptly and led to our table. Server came quickly and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. Our meals were delicious. Great place to dine for lunch.
