We often seek out restaurants owned by Top Chef contestants and winners during our travels, so we’ve had the privilege of enjoying some incredible meals. It’s no exaggeration to say that the food at the Mountain Room is on par with those high-caliber establishments. The trout, in particular, was outstanding—beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. If you’re visiting, don’t miss it!

Though the dining room isn't back to Ala Carte menu service, the buffet is fairly varied and constantly restocked. Malcolm, our server, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He's a credit to the Ahwahnee.
